NEWBURY

2:25

Swift Asset (Pat Dobbs)

He’s been in good form all season and ran another fine race at Brighton last time. Five furlongs is his trip and despite going up another 2lbs I think he should still be competitive off 84.

Classic (Pat Dobbs)

Everything clicked at Sandown last time where he was very good, and that will have done his confidence a lot of good. The ground will be ideal and he worked beautifully on Wednesday.

Hectic (Alec Voikhansky)

He didn’t look the easiest at Newmarket last time, although I don’t think he was in love with the ground, but he’s a very talented horse when things go his way. The Handicapper has him right where he wants so we’re utilising Alec’s 5lbs claim and he has won and finished second in both starts at this track.

Chindit (Pat Dobbs)

His form is there for all to see and he’s been in great shape all season. Seven furlongs around here won’t be a problem at all and this looks an ideal race. He’s fit, well and extremely reliable.

Mammas Girl (Rossa Ryan)

She hasn’t really gone on from her Nell Gwyn win earlier this year but it was a step back in the right direction at York last time and she’s actually unbeaten over this trip. The ground will be perfect and she’s not out of it by any means.

Witch Hunter (Sean Levey)

Seven furlongs appears to be his optimum trip and this is going to be run at a decent gallop, which will suit. He’s very consistent and tries hard so should not be ruled out on his best form.

Chequers Court (Pat Dobbs)

He’s a nice moving son of Belardo who ticks all the right boxes and his work has been good. He’ll come on for the run but is a nice prospect for the future.

Houstonn (Sean Levey)

He has a very similar profile to Chequers Court and is a colt we like a lot. Whether he’s sharp enough to score first time out, time will tell, but he certainly won’t have any problem winning races.

NEWMARKET

Crocus Time (Andrea Atzeni)

She stayed on well over six last time, so the step back up to seven (furlongs) will be a big help, and she comes into this off the back of four solid efforts in defeat. This is her first start in Nursery Company and I think she will be very competitive off 75.

RIPON

2:10

The Coffee Pod (Ben Curtis)

I was delighted with his first run at Nottingham where he really got the hang of things late on. That experience will have done him the world of good and he comes here with a very strong chance.

DONCASTER

3:05

Lexington Knight (Hollie Doyle)

He’s generally very consistent but hated the ground at Ffos Las last time, so he’ll be much happier back on a sound surface here. The drop back in trip won’t be an issue and Hollie will try and make plenty of use of him.

Purple Love (Hollie Doyle)

We thought she would end up one of our top fillies this time last year but things just didn’t work out, so we gave her plenty of time and I was delighted with her first run back at Newmarket last time. I can’t see the drop to seven furlongs posing an problem, and if she can continue on an upward curve, she’d have every chance here.

BATH

Ellade and Skallywag Bay both head down to Bath for their evening card and the latter would appear to be our best chance in the 6:40 off the back of some gutsy efforts in defeat this season.
