I WILL be at Newbury on Friday to support the annual Starlight race day which is a charity that has been running for almost 20 years and has raised millions of pounds for children who are stuck in hospital undergoing vital medical treatment and recovering from serious, and sometimes terminal, illnesses, so as you can imagine I am extremely keen to continue supporting this wonderful cause, and would like to extend a big ‘thank you’ to Newbury for allowing us to host the event again and all of those who have kindly sponsored the card, including Unibet who are sponsoring a very competitive Handicap at 2:05 which is live on ITV Racing.
The race day will mean the charity can continue to raise the much-needed funds to continue supporting children undergoing medical care, and there will also be a live and silent auction with a whole range of lots on offer – some quite unusual including a table of ten for lunch at Brixton High Security Prison! Quite how much that will go for, I’m not sure but you can guarantee they won’t run out of porridge!
Other lots include a box at Sandown Park, tickets to see someone called Harry Styles, two VIP tickets for Madonna (Yes, I’ve heard of her!), Polo class, Golf, a morning on the gallops, a nomination to Juddmonte stallion, Time Test and much, much more.
It really is an afternoon worth supporting and I dearly hope you can join us in raising as much money as we possibly can to allow these children the chance to enjoy a better life and receive the best treatment possible to aid their recovery during such difficult times.
A full list of the lots you can bid for, along with details if you’d like to donate, are available at www.starlightauction.com and www.starlight.org.uk
Thank you for your support,
Nicky
