2.40pm

Chaparral Prince

He was a bit disappointing in a couple of ways when beaten at Huntingdon last time but hopefully he can get in the mix here if reproducing his earlier efforts at Kempton, and the ground will suit. We keep the blinkers on that he wore last time and maybe the step up in trip will suit a horse that was tried over 1m4f on the Flat. He could well be up against it seeing some of the opposition, though.

3.15pm

She Might Bite

She was unfortunately brought down when in there pitching over 3m at Ludlow last time, but I can see her going well if none the worse for that mishap. She bounced back well from an earlier fall, so I wouldn’t be worried on that score myself. Her earlier placed efforts at and around this shorter trip give her a pretty decent chance off this mark, and she likes this ground. She could do with some luck.

4.25pm

Sunrise Ruby

This is the first time I have ridden her on the track but she has clearly done well, winning at a bumper at Southwell last summer and finishing a good second here over 2m4f on her hurdling debut in January. She is a well-related mare, and one who gets plenty of weight here, and decent ground obviously suits her well. The step back in trip hopefully won’t be an issue.

5.00pm

Fugitives Drift

I suspect that Noel [Fehily] will prove very hard to beat on Get In The Queue, for all he has a double penalty, but if anyone is going to be unpopular and beat him on his final ride then I hope it is me! Fugitives Drift gets a stone from him and is nice prospect from a good family, who goes well at home. He is probably more of a longer-term project, though.
