I rode four bits of work at Kempton this morning, and all went really well with Altior and Might Bite. As the other two I sat on won’t be my rides at the Festival, I’ll just stick to talking about my pair.
In these gallops, you always try and finish upsides each other to give all the horses a level of confidence going forward, but unfortunately Altior is Altior and you just can’t hold him when he wants to go! He shot clear in his gallop with River Wylde and Theinval.

Might Bite, Top Notch and Champ all finished within ½ length of each other in their gallop, and I was delighted with my boy. We started halfway down the back, basically where we kick off with the jumpers’ bumpers, and went two miles at an even gallop.
I sat out the back though, as I was keen to make him work, and he finished well, all the way through the line. I was really happy with him, very positive in fact, and he looks to be coming good for the Gold Cup.
