IT'S a busy day for us at Punchestown with seven runners and here are my thoughts on them.

3.40

Feeling The Love (Jody McGarvey)

It’s her first run since last year. She is a summer mare and this looks a good place to start her back and she looks great, so we’ll let her take her chance. Assuming we don’t get much more rain, the ground should be fine by tomorrow. She won three on the bounce for us last season, but she hasn’t run since August. I’ve been happy with her on the lead up to this race and she’ll take her chance.

Polished Steel (Robert Power)

He stood off one at Fairyhouse last week and he thought he could make it, but he didn’t, so we can probably put a line through that run. He seems fine and he won’t mind the ground. He is fresh and well and we’ll go again with him. It’s very competitive and if the ground dried out a bit more, that would fine for him too.

4.15

Don’t Touch It (Mark Walsh)

He is back for the summer. Its first run since last October, but he seems to be in very good form and this looks a good starting off point for him. You’ll see plenty of him at the summer festivals and I think he’s capable of a decent run here.

Impact Factor (Robert Power)

It was great that he won last week at Fairyhouse and he deserved that. We had his wind done and that seems to have helped him and that (win) will have done his confidence the power of good. The ground should be fine for him – he seems to go on anything. This looks a better race than last week and he got 6lbs for winning at Fairyhouse, but it’s a lovely pot to aim one at and he should run another big race.

5.30

Not Many Left (Robert Power)

He has a bit to do at the weights, but we’ll let him take his chance. He ran well over two and a half at Fairyhouse and I think the step up to three miles will help him. He has been fine since – we’ve just kept him ticking over. It’s a big ask for him, but he is a progressive type and is going the right way. We’ll see, but this might be his last run of the season and this race will help us determine what route he’ll go next season.

6.05

Discordantly (Robert Power)

He ran very well at Cheltenham and three miles on this ground will be fine for him. It’s very competitive but he deserves to run in a nice race like this and it was good see him get off the mark over hurdles at Fairyhouse. You’ll need luck in running around here in a 25-runner race and if gets that, he’ll run a good race.

7.15

Emily Moon (Robert Power)

She is much better than her last run and she either runs very well or poorly. I can’t believe that there are so few runners and she likes to get on with things, so we’ll see how she gets on. The ground will be fine for her and I am just hoping that she puts her best foot forward. If she does that, she is bound to have a big chance.
