Ispahan
He was clearly disappointing when last of five at Goodwood over 1m6f on quick ground last time, but I’d be inclined to draw a line through that run. I think stepping down to 1m4f on easier ground is a good move for him, and a reproduction of his earlier Brighton win – where he maybe won impressively in spite of the track – should see him go well here. I think he should be competitive off this current mark.

Vadream
There isn’t a stand-out in this race and as a result there are plenty in here with chances, and clearly Vadream is a leading contender after what she has achieved this season. Third in the Fred Darling and sixth in the 1000 Guineas, she probably stepped up on that level when third in the Jersey last time. And I do think the step down to 6f, in what is hopefully a well-run race, could see her improve further. It was always in the back of my mind she could be seen to best effect over this trip, and I think she has a pretty good chance.
