He clearly hasn’t done a great deal in three starts this year and has a small mountain to climb to mix it with the likes of Stradivarius, Trueshan and Sir Ron Priestley here. But he was a very good stayer between 2018 and 2020, and 2m on decent ground is what he wants, though there is rain about and he has won on heavy. Quite plainly though, he comes here as one of the outsiders.

He is another horse who clearly has to step up a good deal to get competitive here, as he wasn’t an entirely straightforward ride when fifth of six for me on his debut at Nottingham last time. That said, I think gelding him was probably a wise move and hopefully this son of No Nay Never can show us a lot more here.
