Rotterdam Open betting tips and live stream

First round – Tuesday, February 12

There are plenty of good early matches to watch and bet on at the Rotterdam Open. There are no byes here, so top seed Kei Nishikori and his rivals all begin on Tuesday with almost everyone else.

Tuesday morning sees Milan Raonic take on Philipp Kohlschreiber at 10:00 GMT. It’s a great first match to get your tennis betting underway on Tuesday, especially as these met have not met on court since 2013.

Kohlschreiber is the 3.95 underdog after suffering a first-round defeat at the Open Sud De France last week. The German is 1.82 to lose 2-0 on sets.

Nishikori, meanwhile, has a tricky clash against Pierre-Hugues Herbert, who completed a career Grand Slam in the doubles by winning the Australian Open mens doubles title last month. He also lost the Open Sud De France singles final on Sunday. Nishikori beat Herbert 6-2 7-6 in their only previous meeting at the Miami Masters in 2016. Nishikori is 1.34 to win their match on Tuesday (18:30 GMT) and a good price too!

Another match worth following begins at 12:30 GMT, with Thomas Berdych taking on Giles Simon. This is maybe the match of the round, with each man having boasted seven wins against the other.

Berdych has won their last three meetings and is 1.50 to win this clash. However, Simon has some games in his legs after beating Ernests Gulbis 7-6 7-6 to make the Rotterdam Open first round. It’s not exactly been a stellar start to the year for Simon but he is worth considering for an underdog win at 2.60.

Rotterdam Open winner betting

So who will win the Rotterdam Open? Nishikori is the favourite as top seed. But there are two players well worth considering when betting on the tennis. Stefanos Tsitsipas has high expectations on his 20-year-old head and should not be overlooked here. He reached the Sofia Open quarters last time out before being outplayed by the more experienced Gael Monfils.

Tsitsipas was an Australian Open semi-finalist this month and that puts him in good stead here in Rotterdam. He could end up meeting Monfils in the quarters this week — and hopefully the Greek is better prepared this time around!

Another smart bet could well be Karen Khachanov. The Russia has flown under the radar of late but is second seed here in Holland. What’s more, he is in the opposite side of the draw to the dangerous wildcard Stan Wawrinka, who beat him in the Qatar Open.

Khachanov has endeared a miserable 2019 to date but should be very fresh here in Rotterdam after losing in the first round of last week’s Sofia Open to Italian Matteo Berrettini.
