SANDOWN
2:55 G1 Celebration Chase
Jonbon (Nico De Boinville)
This tends to be his seasonal swansong, and we deliberately missed Aintree to come here. Two miles may be a little sharp for him nowadays but he loves it around Sandown and while he was beaten in this race last year, his record speaks for itself and with Solness in the field, there is likely to be plenty of pace which will bring stamina into play.
I have no issues with the ground and it would be fantastic if he could finish his campaign on a high. He is the most wonderful person to have around the place, and we all love him dearly.
4:02 G2 Select Hurdle
Lucky Place (Nico De Boinville)
This seems to be his trip and while he might like a bit more cut, he appears to be affective on this ground and should be able to enjoy himself in a field of this size.
He jumps well, and we have the option of going back chasing next season if we need to, but I’m happy with him and he seems in good form at home.
Jingko Blue (James Bowen)
He ran well in the G1 Liverpool Hurdle last time where he travelled well but didn’t get the run of the race as he did at Cheltenham and made a few jumping errors, notably at the second last.
We’re dropping back again in trip, which should be in his favour, but it’s the same for Kabral Du Mathan, who didn’t look to stay at Cheltenham, so he could be quite hard to beat, but we’ll certainly be giving it our best shot.
4:40
Calimystic (Nico De Boinville)
He is becoming an extremely likeable individual, and I was very impressed with him last time where he jumped and stayed really well. He’s going up to a Class 2, and is 6lbs higher, but he’s improving all the time and I’m not worried about the drop back in trip as Nico will probably make plenty of use of him.
He has the loveliest attitude and I like him a lot.
