We’re still in the first round of the tournament and there are some heavy favourites here who you could link up for a tasty combination bet. Neil Robertson is 1.35 to beat Xiao Guodong in their 14:00 match. That’s a good price considering Robertson boasts a W3 L1 record over his Chinese opponent.
Mark Williams (1.32) should also have no problem brushing aside Sign Yuan as he continues his career resurgence following his empathetic World Championship triumph last year. And both Judd Trump (1.20) and Joe Perry (1.50) are expected to beat Stuart Carrington and Tom Ford respectively.
That four-fold combination bet returns £32 on a £10 bet. Not bad for backing the favourites!
World Grand Prix winning bets
So who will win the World Grand Prix this year? Well, defending champion O’Sullivan is already out but 2018 finalist Ding Junhui is still in the mix. Ding has endured a rocky few years on the circuit and is seeded 24th for this tournament. He is 17.00 to claim the title on Sunday.
Tom seed Mark Allen beat Gary Wilson 4-2 in his opening match to progress to a showdown with either Martin O’Donnell or Ali Carter in round two. Allen is the 6.50 second favourite to claim the title.

The favourite tag goes to Judd Trump, who is fresh off his Masters victory last month. Trump is speed sixth for the World Grand Prix an dis projected to meet Mark Selby in the quarter-finals. Trump is 4.50 to win the competition, with Selby at 8.00. There is very little to split these two and fans can expect the victor of their clash — if it happens — to reach the final on Sunday.
As for an outside bet, Neil Robertson was a Masters semi-finalist only last month and is returning to form after a largely disappointing end to 2018. The Australian is in the top half of the draw and so avoids the threat of Trump or Selby until the final at least. Robertson is worth considering at 10.00.
