Premier League Darts – Phase 2, Week 3
Rob Cross vs Michael Smith
First up on Thursday is 2018 World Darts Champion Rob Cross, who faces an opponent who will crash out of the tournament if he loses here. Michael Smith needs to win all three of his remaining Premier League Darts matches to stand any hope of making the Playoffs.

Smith has endured a tough Premier League Darts campaign, winning just three matches all season. And while his averages have been better than five other players in 2019, Smith simply hasn’t hit those doubles when required.
Cross, meanwhile, is second in the Premier League Darts table and looks good for a final showdown with Michael van Gerwen in London. Cross is a good opening bet to win 1.85 here.
Peter Wright vs Mensur Suljovic
Peter Wright’s Premier League Darts campaign for 2019 is already over after a disappointing few months. He has managed just two wins this term and sits bottom of the Phase 2 table. Wright’s checkout percentage is 42% — better than four opponents this season. But getting into positions where he can checkout has been his problem.
STUNNING FROM SNAKEBITE!
Peter Wright chucks in a 114.2 average in a 6-0 whitewash of Gary Anderson, who also averaged 103.3.

Now, Wright comes into this match having thrashed Gary Anderson 6-0 in the Players Championship 14. The Scot averaged a staggering 114 in the match — the best average of any player in 2019.
But Wright is not the darts player he was 12 months ago and Mensur Suljovic, with his cool head and relaxed demeanour, could well take advantage here. Suljovic has won seven of his last eight meetings with Wright and is 1.90 to win again.
Daryl Gurney vs Michael van Gerwen
Michael van Gerwen could still feasibly miss out on the final night in London but realistically he’s secured his spot. Yet don’t think that security will lead to the Dutchman dropping his game.

MVG is unbeaten in his last six Premier League Darts (W4 D2) and is the only player averaging over 100 in this campaign. The world champion averaged 106.78 last week yet was held 7-7 by James Wade — a performance that proves players can match the all-conquering star of darts at times.
Daryl Gurney knows an unlikely win against the odds here will propel him into the Premier League Darts top four. But he boasts just four wins over MVG from 22 previous meetings. Van Gerwen is 1.32 to win and a good bet on any combination you make on Thursday night.
James Wade vs Gerwyn Price
This is the match you should watch and bet on if you really love your darts. It’s the closest one of the night and sees James Wade come up against an opponent who was well matched when they last met.

Wade and Price shared a 6-6 draw in the Unibet Premier League Darts back in February. Before that Wade had won three matches on the bounce over Welshman Price. This clash on Thursday should be close.
Wade is the 2.30 favourite but Price, at 2.45, cannot be sniffed at. Whoever wins will take a giant leap towards qualifying for the semi-finals. And you can watch live darts and bet in-play during the whole thing!
