Arsenal underdogs to win
Arsenal are by no means favourites to win this friendly clash with Madrid. In fact, they are 3.05 to claim victory — a big price compared to what the Gunners are used to when they usually play. That shows the strength of Madrid but also the lack of confidence many football betting fans have in Arsenal claiming a win here.

So can they do it? Well, Unai Emery’s men are already three games into pre-season and have beaten Colorado, Munich and Fiorentina. The 3-0 triumph over Italian side Fiorentina was their most complete performance to date and youngster Eddie Nketiah impressed up front with two goals.
Emery fielded a far stronger side for their win over Munich — with the typical from four of Mesut Ozil, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang all starting. We can expect this quartet to start again versus Madrid on Wednesday morning.
And Arsenal will need their forwards firing here if they are to claim victory. The central midfield is still a concern for Arsenal, while Emery has so far failed to adequately strengthen his defence. This could therefore be a high-scoring game if Arsenal’s front men are up for it.
Madrid favourites at 2.00
Madrid lost 3-1 to Munich in their first International Champions Cup game of the season yet are heavy favourites to beat Arsenal in Washington. Los Blancos gave a first start to new signing Eden Hazard — a player who has terrorised Arsenal defenders down the years.

And Hazard could well be the difference here, with Madrid ready to set up in similar fashion to how they fared against Munich. Yes, the Spanish giants lost to their German rivals but Arsenal are not Munich. They don’t have the core solidarity of the Bundesliga machine. And this will likely hurt Arsenal over 90 minutes.
Madrid should certain score more than once against this Arsenal defence, with Marco Asensio likely to start too. It will be interesting to see if Gareth Bale — who has been told he can leave Madrid — plays any part in this game. If he does feature, he will want to prove himself to Zidane any any prospective buyer.
First goalscorer betting
With that in mind, Bale could be a good shout to score first if he starts on Wednesday. But don’t count on that. Instead, Hazard is the main man for Madrid here. He knows how to score against Arsenal, having netted four goals in the past two seasons versus the Gunners.

If you’re backing an Arsenal player to score first, then Lacazette or Aubameyang could well be the men to go for here. Don’t rely on Ozil to show up with a goal — or even show up! He may be playing against his former club but Ozil is notorious for drifting in and out of games.
