Indian Wells live stream and betting tips

Women’s draw wide open

Serena Williams’ early exit from Indian Wells blows the women’s singles draw wide open. Williams retired in the third round against Garbine Muguruza, who is now suddenly 10.00 to win the tournament. Muguruza has a tricky fourth-round tie with Kiki Bertens to come on Monday, and would be projected to face Simona Halep in the semis.

The big bet in the Indian Wells women’s singles draw is Naomi Osaka. Halep may be the 4.50 favourite to win the tournament but Osaka – the top seed here in America – is well priced at 5.50 to claim the title.

The Japanese cruised past Kristina Mladenovic in her first match and should have no problem with American Danielle Collins in the third round this Monday. Osaka headed into Indian Wells having just won the Australian Open. She did falter at the Dubai Tennis Championships between Melbourne and here, but the 21-year-old is the big bet.

Another worthy punt if you’re seeking a tennis bet outsider is Elina Svitolina, who has already charged into the fourth round after wins over Sofia Kenn and Daria Gavrilova. Svitolina has not been wholly convincing so far but at 8.00 may be worth a punt heading into the later rounds.

Big Three still in men’s draw

Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer are still in the men’s draw as of Monday morning. Djokovic cruised past Bjorn Fratangelo in his first match, while Nadal sunk Jared Donaldson 6-1 6-1 and Federer had not problem with Peter Gojowczyk.

But third-round matches here at Indian Wells could all pose a problem for the Big Three. Djokovic takes on Philipp Kohlschreiber, who took Federer to three sets in Dubai last month. Yes, Kohlschreiber at 35 years of age is not the toughest of opponents, but he beat Nick Kyrgios 6-4 6-4 in his second match of Indian Wells and is 9.00 to upset Djokovic (03:00 GMT start time on Tuesday, March 12).

Nadal us up against Diego Schwartzman, who reached the third round in Melbourne two months ago. Since then the Argentine has played in four tournaments — including the doubles in three of those meetings — and endured mixed results. His best finish was a defeat to Marco Cecchinato in the Argentina Open final.

Realistically Schwartzman should be no problem for Nadal and this is the banker of the Big Three matches on Monday / Tuesday, with Nadal priced at 1.34 to win in two sets.

As for Federer, he faces fellow Swiss veteran Stan Wawrinka. Now, Wawrinka at 33 years old is not the player he once was. The three-time Grand Slam winner has slumped down the rankings over the past three years. But Wawrinka still packs a punch and Federer should be wary of his compatriot.

This is the best match to live stream tennis on and bet in-play during. Wawrinka boasts just three wins from 24 meetings with Federer, with the last coming on clay in 2015. Yet the pair went deep into three sets when they last met — at the Cincinnati Masters in 2018.

Wawrinka knows Federer’s game, it’s just about executing a resilient plan to combat it. That is difficult against such an experienced and technically gifted player such as Federer. But Wawrinka has already come through two three-set matches to make this stage and could produce another upset.

Federer v Wawrinka starts at 17:00 GMT on Tuesday, March 12 — the perfect time to live stream tennis and bet in-play!
