Stanley Cup playoffs – Round Two
Bruins vs Blue Jackets – Series starts Friday, April 26 at 00:00 BST
Boston cruised into Round Two of the Stanley Cup playoffs thanks to a stunning 4-3 series win over Toronto Maple Leafs, who had finished behind their Eastern Conference rivals during the regular season.

An emphatic 5-1 victory in Boston sealed the series in the last game — and indeed it required three goals from the Bruins in the final third to seal the win.
Before the playoffs, many ice hockey betting fans would have argued that beating Toronto was harder than what they come up against in Round Two. That’s because the Blue Jackets scraped into the playoffs after a regular season that didn’t exactly catch the eye.
But Columbus head into this clash having just stunned the Lightning 4-0 in their Round One series. That series triumph has seen the Blue Jackets’ Stanley Cup winning price skyrocket to 8.50.
Yes, they still have to get past favourites Boston (5.00) but confidence is high in the Columbus camp right now. It would be a risky punter who backs the Bruins to win this series before Game One has even been played.

Blues vs Stars – Series starts Friday, April 26 at 02:30 BST
The Central Division’s third-best team meets its fourth-best team in this tantalising Round Two series. St Louis convincingly beat the Jets 4-2 in their opening series of the Stanley Cup playoffs but all four of their wins were tight games.

The Stars, meanwhile, edged the Predators 4-2 in their first series and actually enjoyed a far more free-flowing contest. This series, which starts in the early hours of Friday morning, is expected to be tight.
If you’re seeking a pre-series hockey bet here, the clues to who could win lie in the head-to-head record this season. Dallas boast a W3 L1 record over St Louis in 2018/19 and victories of 4-1 and 5-2.
Now, the Blues are 1.65 favourites to win this series but that’s largely because of their home advantage. A price of 2.25 on Dallas progressing is well worth considering.
Sharks vs Avalanche – Series starts Friday, April 26 at TBD
San Jose snuck into Round Two thanks to a disputed call in overtime as they edged Las Vegas 5-4 on Wednesday morning. But despite their slice of luck this week, they are still a dangerous side for Colorado to face this weekend.

The Avalanche were perhaps the worst team to reach the Stanley Cup playoffs this season but had no problem disposing of the Flames 4-1 in their opening playoff series. Heavy wins against Calgary were spearheaded by Mikko Rantanen and Tyson Barrie.
The Sharks are 1.55 to take this series but they needed a monumental effort reach Round Two, while Colorado should be fresh for this opening encounter on Friday morning. That’s why 2.47 on an Avalanche series win is very tempting.
Still, the Sharks did beat Colorado in all three of their regular-season matches this term. It’s a tough series to call.
