French football live stream and betting

Monaco v Nice – Wednesday, January 16 at 18:00 GMT

The big football live stream to watch and bet on this midweek come from Monte Carlo. Monaco are desperate for points as they battle against Ligue 1 relegation but form is not on their side. A draw at Marseille last weekend certainly helped but that was their first Ligue 1 point since December 4.

Monaco have little form to cling to and Cesc Fabregas’ arrival, while lifting spirits, will not solve their problems. Monaco need goals and face a Nice side who themselves have been enduring problems. They finally ended a six-game winless streak with a 1-0 win over Bordeaux at the weekend.

Mario Balotelli is absent from the team and with very few recognised strikers, goals at Nice are hard to come by. This match will be tense and likely low-scoring. Under 1.5 goals at 3.15 is a good bet. As is total cards over 4.5 at 2.07.

Toulouse v Lyon – Wednesday, January 16 at 18:00 GMT

Over on the other side, Lyon are 1.73 favourites to beat Toulouse and maintain their hunt for a Champions League spot. Lyon drew 1-1 with Reims last weekend in the surprise result of the round. Coupled with a 2-1 loss to Strasbourg in the League Cup and 2019 has not been kind to Lyon so far.

Toulouse, meanwhile, also lost to Strasbourg (this time in the league) and are desperate to rekindle their late-2018 form that saw them win two of their last three matches before Christmas, having not previously won since September 1.

This Toulouse side is a tricky opponent for Lyon and their win price is too low considering their form. It’s worth instead backing both sides to score. Lyon have leaked goals of late and a price of 1.74 on that market is available.

St-Etienne v Marseille – Wednesday, January 16 at 20:00 GMT

The last match of the night sees St-Etienne host a Marseille side who are having a disastrous season. Ninth in Ligue 1 and without a win since November 25. Marseille were stunned 2-0 by Andrezieux in the League Cup last weekend and then drew with Monaco – something very few teams have succumbed to this season.

With Marseille a mess, this is the perfect time for St-Etienne to strike. They are fourth in Ligue 1 and gunning for an unlikely Champions League spot. The surprise contenders of French football this season, St-Etienne have won five of their last eight league games.

That includes keeping clean sheets in four of those wins — a major feat for a team not well known for its defensive solidity.

St-Etienne drew 2-2 with Marseille at home last season and another draw is priced at 3.40. But with St-Etienne in such pomp right now, 2.28 on a home win is the better bet.
