England heavy favourites to win

England are huge favourites to beat Sri Lanka on Friday. In fact, their price of 1.08 to win is barely worth betting on because your potential profit margin will be tiny. Therefore, cricket live stream and betting fans are likely to look for other markets to back England on here.

England have beaten Bangladesh, West Indies and Afghanistan since their defeat to Pakistan. Sri Lanka is arguably their toughest test since that loss and could pose a problem if the Headingley pitch turns as much as we know it can.

Looking at England’s batting line-up, it would be sensible to assume Joe Root will excel on his home wicket in Yorkshire. Root — the England Test captain — is 1.87 to score +59.5 runs in this game and 7.00 to be names Man of the Match. That’s two great prices for someone naturally at home at Headingley.

Moeen Ali — England’s all-rounder — is also a decent price at 9.50 to be the top wicket taker here on his 100th ODI appearance. The Warwickshire spinner will hope for plenty of turn in Leeds and could well impress.

Can Sri Lanka get a win?

It seems highly unlikely that Sri Lanka are going to win this match. They are 8.00 to claim victory and in reality that’s being kind. Sri Lanka lost to Australia by 87 runs in their last game and England are arguably more dangerous than the Aussies.

Yet the Sri Lankans have dangerous players who could cause England problems. Opener Dimuth Karunaratne scored 97 runs against Australia and managed a half-century versus New Zealand in Sri Lanka’s first match of the tournament. Karunaratne is 8.00 to be the top run scorer on Friday.

Isuru Udana has proved deadly with the ball of late and, with Sri Lanka increasingly dropping Lasith Malinga as their talismanic bowler, a new paceman has to come to the fore. Left-arm Udana got two wickets against Australia and could improve on his tally versus England. He is 2.20 to get more wickets than Liam Plunkett.
