BUVEUR D'AIR had a mixed season last year. His annihilation of touted superstar Samcro at Newcastle was one of the early highligts of the National Hunt season before he was subject to a huge upset at Kempton Park in the Unibet Christmas Hurdle at Kempton when stablemate Verdana Blue came and gubbed him right on the line under Unibet ambassador Nico de Boinville. He was an early faller in the Unibet Champion Hurdle, a race which he was trying to win for a third straight time, but bounced back in fine style at Punchestown to prove he still holds high rank, if not the number one spot, in the two mile hurdling division. We recently caught up with his trainer, and Unibet ambassador, Nicky Henderson to discuss his plans for Buveur D'Air this season. Unsurprisingly a crack at the Unibet Champion Hurdle is very much in the pipeline…..
