Michael Buckley

Michael Buckley has been in the racing game for close to 50 years, having picked up his first horse way back in 1974, a scrubby-looking ex-Flat animal called Game Moss, who promptly won his first race and ensured a love affair with the sport that has lasted five decades.

Since then, he’s owned some belters, including The Proclamation, Spirit Son, Toast of New York, and now, Constitution Hill, who may just be the best of the lot!

From qualifying as an accountant to owning 350,000 sheep, Michael has had a varied and interesting career. Now chairman of a gaming company, the likeable entrepreneur has always had an eye for spotting a winner, and in Constitution Hill he may just have his biggest yet!

Our Head of Racing, Ed Nicholson, caught up with the man himself…
