Day Two of the July Festival features the Tattersalls Falmouth Stakes Group 1, with the three-year-old January current heading the market, whilst the four-year-olds Cinderella’s Dream and my selection Crimson Advocate are next in the betting. This generation have won four of the last ten runnings of the Tattersalls Falmouth Stakes Group 1.
Earlier, in the 3.00 Heritage Handicap, Story Horse is my selection, and I was also certainly tempted by Champagne Prince Unibet 6/1, who did stay over this trip when finishing sixth in the Copper Horse Handicap after racing wide and prominently. He will love the ground.
Enjoy whether at the July Festival or watching #athome on ITV Racing or Racing TV.
Cheers

3:00 Newmarket – Heritage Handicap (1m 6f)
Story Horse just failed to hold off French Master at Goodwood last time out, with Dancing In Paris in third (reopposes), though the winner who had struggled to get a clear run then dotted up in the Copper Horse Handicap at Royal Ascot when looking a potential Group stayer in the making.
It did show how Story Horse is progressing, and he won here over this distance on the Rowley Mile earlier in the season on good to firm. He is very likeable consistent sort, who has been found a good opportunity to return to winning ways,

Crimson Advocate (nap) beat Cinderella’s Dream by a length and three-quarters in the Duke Of Cambridge at Royal Ascot coming from last to first to win in emphatic style.
Many seem to think that because Cinderella’s Dream is on three-pound better terms and with the July course looking likely to suit her more than the round course at Ascot she will reverse the placings.
Crimson Advocate was raised from a mark of 106 to 115 for her Royal Ascot success after appearing to be a much-improved performer and does look to be blossoming at the age of four.
Unibet 100/30 win
Elwateen was fourth in the 1000 Guineas to Desert Flower on only her second career start when racing prominently throughout and she had shown beforehand that she could handle the preliminaries of a big race day really well.
She then headed to Epsom where she seemed unsuited by the course and when asked for an effort Elwateen clearly didn’t stay, as she faded from the two-furlong pole.
Returning to this distance works in her favour and Elwateen clearly has untapped potential, which if she builds on her 1000 Guineas form gives this three-year-old strong each way claims.

4.45 Newmarket – Dubai Racing Club Handicap (7f)
Hickory won the Victoria Cup at Ascot in May for his new trainer over this distance and he is seen very much as a specialist at the Berkshire course.
He had his first run at Newmarket on the July course last time out and ended up racing in the group on the far side, with the stand side having the advantage so it is best to draw a line here.
Hickory has the blinkers back on and you can expect him to be much more in the mix for each way players.
