DAY three of the Ebor Festival features a cracking renewal of the Nunthorpe Stakes Group 1 and the Weatherbys Lonsdale Cup Group 2, in which Trawlerman is Unibet 4/7.
Trawlerman was brilliant at Royal Ascot, and he has been given a welcome break since that Gold Cup victory. He looks sure to get his way in front again and is hard to oppose here. It is worth remembering that he won the Ebor back in 2022.
Enjoy whether at York or watching #athome on ITV Racing and Racing TV.
Cheers!

3:00 York – Al Basti Equiworld Dubai Gimcrack Stakes Group 2 (6f)
Lifeplan was well fancied to score at Thirsk on debut and won well when looking a bit green late on, so there ought to be plenty more improvement to come. Although the second was a little disappointing at Deauville next time out, some of those in behind had won their previous starts, and the form looks solid. Lifeplan certainly recorded a good time figure too, and he looks the one to trouble the favourite, Do Or Do Not.
3:35 York – Coolmore Wootton Bassett Nunthorpe Stakes Group 1 (5f)
Lady Iman is looking to emulate Kingsgate Native and be the first two -year-old to win the Nunthorpe since 2007.
She won the Molecomb Stakes at Goodwood last time out when beating Argentine Tango by one and half lengths over the minimum trip. Lady Iman is a strong traveller, and the way she picked up that day really caught the eye.
Lady Iman has had five career starts, with three wins over the minimum trip and one over six furlongs, with her only defeat a second to Beautify at the Curragh.
There appears to be a lack of true five-furlong specialists in this year’s Nunthorpe and Lady Iman can take advantage of this , as well having the benefit of a good draw.
Frost Of Dawn was an excellent second to American Affair at Royal Ascot in the King Charles lll Stakes when just beaten by a neck, with the third a length and a quarter back. She admittedly failed to step up last time out in the Group 2 King George Stakes at Goodwood when fourth to JM Jungle, who reopposes,.
Frost Of Dawn has run over further earlier in her career, though this is the right trip for her and stall 6 is favourable.
5.20 York – Mile Handicap (Heritage Handicap) (1m)
Fearnot (nap) is at the top of the weights but he deserves all the weight after a string of excellent efforts in quality handicaps, including a win in a 0-105 at Ascot last time, when beating Bullet Point, who won the Clipper Stakes at York on Thursday when looking like a Group horse.
Fearnot, like Bulled Point, is a fast-improving individual, and we’ve simply no idea how good he could be. Admittedly, winning a handicap off 104 won’t be easy, particularly from stall 15 but then again, he deserves to be at the top of the market with Montpellier Unibet 5/1, who can chase home Fearnot.
