TODAY emotions will be running high at the Knavesmire on Ladies’ Day with the appearance of Enable in the Yorkshire Oaks. The Yorkshire crowd will salute this wonderful mare as she looks sure to win this afternoon on the way to winning her third Arc.
Enable is wonderful for racing and I will be toasting her latest success with a glass of Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label. Cheers!
1.55 – York Lowther Stakes Group 2 6f
This is a fascinating renewal and the once raced Wejdan for the inform William Haggas yard is taken to come out on top against Liberty Beach (extra furlong today) and Under The Stars (quality of form of beaten horses last time out).
Wejdan was very impressive on debut at Newbury 16 days ago when coming from way off the pace with a storming finish and there will be plenty of improvement on offer this afternoon.
Unibet each way 11/2
2.25 – York Goffs Premier Yearling Stakes 6f
Show Me Show Me for Richard Fahey was always going to be top of my list for this after his eyecatching effort in the Molecomb last time at Goodwood when coming from off the pace to finish third. The extra furlong can only help, stall 5 is fine and as long as he breaks a bit better than Goodwood, looks the one to beat despite the large field.

3.00 York Handicap 1m
The four-year-old Qaysar has been in cracking form for Unibet Ambassador Richard Hannon and can secure a hat-trick of victories in August after impressive successes at both Newbury and Newmarket.
Richard Hannon is confident that his charge will be suited by York and James Doyle takes the ride once again.

4.15 – York Sir Henry Cecil Stakes Listed Race 1m 4f
Vivionn (nap) for Sir Michael Stoute got no run at Goodwood last month and would have won in another few strides. This full sister to Ispolini did nothing but stay so an extra two furlongs can be viewed as a positive. She doesn’t need much more to get involved and is very genuine.
Unibet each way 6/1
4.50 – York Fillies Handicap 7f
Salayel very obvious chance on second start for the Roger Varian yard, almost got there at Newmarket and although up 6lb, suspicion is she’s Group class in waiting. Not much pace among those drawn single figures and if taking a lead from Warning Fire, can have her measure late.
Unibet win 7/2
