Cheltenham Festival Antepost Betting 0 Wine Tipster

THE Dublin Racing Festival on day two features four Grade 1 races including the Chanelle Pharma Irish Champion Hurdle in which State Man is Unibet 3/10 on. Last time out he beat Impaire Et Passe by 3¼ lengths in the Matheson Hurdle Grade 1 when winning comfortably, although tactically Impaire Et Passe should have set off in front to make it more of a stamina test, which is surely what will happen this time as they renew rivalry. Although the race will be run differently State Man can still come out on top over this minimum trip with Impaire Et Passe proven over further. An interesting angle is Bob Olinger, who if he runs, looks an each way bet at Unibet 9/1, as it is hard to see the disparity in the market between him, given his last two performances and Impaire Et Passe.

There is another big day at Musselburgh with the Scottish Triumph Hurdle, Scottish Supreme Novices’ Hurdle and their feature the Scottish Champion Chase.

Enjoy whether at the races or #athome enjoying the coverage from the Dublin Racing Festival and Musselburgh on ITV and Racing TV.

Cheers

1.10 Leopardstown – Novice Chase Grade 1 (2m 5½f)

Gaelic Warrior looked hugely impressive last time out when winning the Grade 1 Faugheen Novices’ Chase at Limerick in December when winning with ease to keep his unbeaten record in Ireland. He is stepping up in trip over fences and that will only suit him, as he has won over three miles over hurdles. He is supremely talented individual, whose only two defeats have been at the Cheltenham Festival when finishing second over hurdles in 2022 and 2023. There will be some short-priced favourites that will be overturned at the Dublin Racing Festival; however Gaelic Warrior won’t be one of them as he can hold off stablemate Fact To File.

Unibet 5/6 win

1.40 Leopardstown – Tattersalls Ireland 50th Derby Sale Novice Hurdle Grade 1 (2m)

Farren Glory (nap) was cruising at Aintree and looking the winner when taking a horrible fall two flights out in the Grade 1 Formby Novices’ Hurdle. It is not something I typically do in marking up a runner who has fallen on their previous start, yet Farren Glory has had a break, is an imposing individual with a Grade 1 success on his penultimate appearance in the Royal Bond at Fairyhouse beating King Of Kingsfield, who won next time out. Farren Glory can take on the favourite Ballyburn, who won a maiden hurdle by half the straight at Leopardstown in December and here Farren Glory has the experience, having won his maiden hurdle back in November ahead of appearing in two Grade 1 races.

Unibet 3/1 win

2.10 Leopardstown – Dublin Chase Grade 1 (2m)

Dinoblue receives a 7lb allowance from the boys and she certainly has it to do on the ratings with the very smart favourite El Fabiolo. However, his jumping is not always consistent and Dinoblue showed when beating stablemate Gentlemen De Mee over Christmas that she is in the best form of her career when travelling smoothly and aside from the last she jumped really well. Last year at The Cheltenham Festival she was runner-up in the Johnny Henderson Grand Annual and she really stepped up two starts later at the Punchestown Festival, whilst not looking back since.

Unibet 11/2 win

3.20 Leopardstown – O’Driscolls Irish Whiskey Leopardstown Handicap Chase (2m 5½f)

Heart Wood carries 10st 1lb for the Henry De Bromhead and Rachael Blackmore team with runners carrying low weights winning three of the last five renewals. This applies to my other selection stablemate Percy Warner. Heart Wood has finished second on his three jump appearances when behind Blood Destiny last time out and before that Grangeclare West. This six-year-old was a winning hurdler in France and if he can handle this big field has to have a good chance.

Unibet 15/2 each way

Percy Warner won at Cork in November on his first start for three months when showing plenty of determination over 2m 5f to beat Battle of Mirbat and Falco Blitz, who won next time out. That was Percy Warner’s first success since joining Henry De Bromhead’s yard and he has had another break since that run. He is running here from 2lbs out of the handicap with Mike O’ Connor claiming 3lbs and in a typically competitive renewal can reward each way players.

Unibet 18/1 each way
