The second day of the Irish Champions Weekend looks compelling with some fascinating racing, not only at a juvenile level with City Of Troy Unibet 5/6 on to win the Goffs Vincent O’Brien National Stakes Group 1 after beating Haatem, trained by Unibet Ambassador Richard Hannon at the July Festival so brilliantly. City Of Troy looks hard to oppose for the Aidan O’Brien team.

Earlier in the afternoon Highfield Princess and Bradsell take each other on again and it would be great to see Kyprios win the Irish St Leger

Enjoy whether at the Curragh or watching #athome on Racing TV.

Cheers!

1.50 Curragh – Irish Stallion Farms EBF “Bold Lad” Sprint Handicap (6f)

Albasheer dead heated with Summerghand at York and Albasheer, who will relish the conditions can come out on top here.

Unibet 13/2 each way

Dandyville has been very consistent and can reward each way players in a competitive contest.

Unibet 11/1 each way

2.25 Curragh – Moyglare “Jewels” Blandford Stakes Group 2 Fillies & Mares (1m 2f)

Araminta (nap) continues on an upward trajectory and can come out on top here for the Henry Candy team.

She looked really good when winning a Group 3 easily at Chantilly in July and that was another step up from an eyecatching performance at Goodwood when victorious in a Listed contest in May.

She has a great attitude to racing and their patience can be rewarded with a strong Autumn campaign.

2.55 Curragh – Dubai Flying Five Stakes Group 1 (5f)

Highfield Princess finished ahead of Bradsell in the Nunthorpe when they were second and third respectively to Live In The Dream. This time the main challenge looks to come from Art Power, who is a course specialist, however he might find this ground too quick.

3.25 Curragh – Moyglare Stud Stakes Group 1 Fillies (7f)

Red Viburnum was given far too much to do on her sole career start when third here at the Curragh to A Lilac Rolla and Opera Singer last month on good ground over this trip. She was rattling home then and if she had been produced with a challenge earlier she would have won. Red Viburnum will be ridden handier today and this Frankel filly should relish the quick ground.

4.35 Curragh – Comer Group International Irish St Leger Group 1 (1m 6f)

Kyprios hasn’t been seen since last October when winning a Group 1 easily, despite hanging badly left at Longchamp over two miles and four furlongs. That was his sixth win of last season and he retained his 100% record for the 2022 season, which included the Irish St Leger when 8/11 on Despite the fact this is his first start for nearly a year he can still come out on top here, as he is a  horse who doesn’t get the respect he deserves for all his achievements last season
