The Unibet Summer Plate Ladies Day at Market Rasen, features a seven-race card sponsored by Unibet, which has good sized fields and is certainly going to be very competitive.
The feature is the Unibet Summer Plate Handicap Chase, which looks a very strong renewal with last year’s winner Sure Touch, who is back this year to defend his crown, having had this as a target since his 2024 success.
Sure Touch is currently at Unibet 9/2, whilst heading the market is one of the Irish challenges Ballysax Hank Unibet 4/1, who should not be underestimated making his handicap chase debut.
Statuario, who was third in both 2024 and 2022, returns to Market Rasen on the back of a good win at Perth, whilst the veteran The Flier Begley has won both of his starts at the Lincolnshire course and Charlie Uberalles is going for a three-timer.
There are plenty in with chances as there are in the closely matched Unibet Same Race Multi Summer Handicap Hurdle earlier on the card, though a key element overall could be the weather in terms of ground, which at the time of writing on Friday morning there is 16mm of rain forecast from 8am Saturday morning through to the final race.
Fingers crossed that there is a significant change, as there is always a bumper crowd on this day at Market Rasen. I always enjoy this meeting, and I’ll see you there!
Enjoy whether at a racecourse or watching #athome on ITV Racing and Racing TV.
Cheers
The Wine Tipster

Broughshane is having his first start for his new trainer and has blinkers fitted given on other right-handed tracks in the past he has jumped out to the left. He definitely has the ability though, as he showed over hurdles in October and November last year with form figures of 121, including a success over this trip on good ground, whilst his other victory was on good to soft.
Broughshane can go well in an open looking contest.

Cavern Club has shown his ability as a dual-purpose performer with a battling win at Chester on the flat over two miles in the soft, for which the handicapper raised him to a mark of 83.
Over hurdles he looks fairly treated off 120 and he came from last to first to beat Bluegrass at Doncaster when last seen over timber back in March, showing plenty of determination.
Back in November over hurdles at Cheltenham he ran a blinder to finish second to the smart Wreckless Eric when a 50/1 shot on good ground.
If the forecast rain does arrive Cavern Club is obviously very effective on softer going, although he has shown he can run very well on good ground and has won on good to firm.
This combined with his good form and battling qualities puts Cavern Club right in the each way picture in a competitive renewal.

Ceanndana (nap) has to carry 10st 2lbs instead of 9st 11lb and despite that this eight-year-old still has a really good chance as a proven Summer performer. He returned to action at Tipperary at the start of July after not being seen since Cheltenham’s Showcase Meeting last October and run over an inadequate trip over two miles and half a furlong in Ireland when third to Arctic Fly. If you take a look at the replay, you will see that Ceanndana ran with lots of enthusiasm and after making up lots of ground was only noted at the finish.
He is not unaccustomed to coming back from a break, having finish second in May last year after a 236-day absence on the first race of his summer campaign and from this race through to October Ceanndana’s form figures were 211216.
Ceanndana will be having his ninth chase start, has that big field experience and with the ground in his favour can strike over a trip he is proven over.
Unibet 9/2 win
Charlie Uberalles is going for a three-timer after two good successes at Cartmel in May and June respectively on good to soft ground.
His most recent Cartmel victory saw him win off a career mark of 132 and he will need to step up again off his new rating of 137. Charlie Uberalles is a very good jumper, who likes to race prominently and providing he is ridden with enough restraint at the front he can run a big race.

Prince Quattro gets the vote, particularly as he’s pretty versatile as far as ground goes and also because he has been going well since joining his new trainer in early May.
Prince Quattro form over hurdles since then is 331 and after two solid efforts he was duly rewarded with a determined success at Worcester last month on good to soft, for which the handicapper raised him from a mark of 99 to 106. He has since had a run on the Flat at Doncaster to keep him on the go and if he improves once again Prince Quattro has strong claims.
