The second day of the Dubai Future Champions Festival at Newmarket features a fascinating renewal of the Darley Dewhurst Stakes Group 1 with my selection Nostrum looking to follow up on his success at the Cambridgeshire meeting. He has strong opposition with Chaldean, Naval Power and Aesop’s Fables looking sure to make a strong challenge.
The Cesarewitch Handicap over two miles and two furlongs is one of the races of the year with Unibet Ambassador Nicky Henderson looking to have a strong chance with Ahorsewithnoname, who has been targeted at the Cesarewitch.
At Chepstow there is good jump action with the second day of the Unibet Jump Season Opener and Didtheyleaveyououtto Unibet 17/2 looks to have a good each way chance in the Silver Trophy Handicap Hurdle.
Enjoy all the coverage whether on course or watching #athome.
Cheers

2.25 Newmarket – Emirates Autumn Stakes Group 3 (1m)
Holloway Boy was a good second to Nostrum in the Tattersalls Stakes at the Cambridgeshire meeting and can frank that form ahead of the Dewhurst in which my selection Nostrum is favourite. Holloway Boy won the Chesham at Royal Ascot on debut and then finished second to Marbaan (runs in the Dewhurst) at Goodwood when losing a shoe. Holloway Boy is thoroughly genuine and can record his second career win.
Unibet 11/4 win
3.00 Newmarket – Darley Dewhurst Stakes Group 1 (7f)
Nostrum can make it three from three in a fascinating renewal of the Dewhurst. Nostrum won his maiden at Sandown by three lengths, when beating Golden Speech back in July and then reappeared in the Tattersalls Stakes Group 3 last month on the Rowley Mile beating Holloway Boy (runs in the Emirates Autumn Stakes) by one and a quarter lengths when creating a fine impression. Nostrum was clearly suited by the Rowley Mile, as he always travelled smoothly to lead inside the 3f marker and this striking individual is still a raw talent, who will progress again.
Unibet 6/4 win
3.15 York – Sprint Trophy Handicap (6f)
Air Raid is having his third start of the season, with his last appearance back in June at Hamilton when running a good race to finish second to Snazzy Jazzy after leading in the last furlong. This seven-year-old’s victories have all come on ground good or softer so conditions will suit, whilst stall 10 is a favourable draw for a typically competitive renewal.

3.40 Newmarket – Club Godolphin Cesarewitch Handicap (2m 2f)
Ahorsewithnoname (nap), who is likely to go off as favourite, has an excellent chance for Unibet Ambassador Nicky Henderson, who won the Cesarewitch last year with Buzz. This has clearly been the plan for Ahorsewithnoname, who has had two starts only in 2022 on the flat, with a success in April in Newbury over two miles half a furlong and then a particularly eye-catching victory over the same distance at York in May by a comfortable five lengths. The manner of this win on the Knavesmire, when staying on strongly, saw this seven-year-old beat Master Milliner and Frankenstella, who was second to Alfred Boucher in the Stayers Handicap at the Ebor Festival, so the form lines are strong here. Ahorsewithnoname still looks ahead of the handicapper and is obviously not only one to follow here, but also over the sticks this winter.
Unibet 7/2 win
Vino Victrix was gelded over the winter and has been in consistent form in 2022 with form figures of 34221. This four-year-old has twice finished second at Kempton on the all-weather over two miles and then won at Goodwood on the turf over the same trip when surging clear to beat Malakahna by over three lengths. The runner-up has franked the form since when winning easily at Ascot. Vino Victrix would be 3lb higher if the Goodwood success was taken into account and really looks the type who will be suited by the extra two furlongs.
Unibet 16/1 each way
Call My Bluff was a good second at Chester to Emiyn over a very similar trip to the Cesarewitch coming from off the pace and probably should have won on that occasion. He has been in good form, having finished third to Rajinsky in the Cesarewitch Trial the previous week. Call My Bluff will be having his sixth start of the season and whilst not the quickest, he definitely stays and with Unibet paying five places has strong each way claims.
Unibet 18/1 each way
5.20 Newmarket – Masar Darley Stakes Group 3 (1m 1f)
Ottoman Fleet still looks like a Group horse in waiting but he hasn’t quite shown it yet in much the same way as stablemate New London took his time to find his fleet. Ottoman Fleet was marked up last time in my Unibet blog when running a very good second to stablemate Marching Army when beaten a neck at Newbury over one mile two furlongs . This drop back to one mile one furlong could be ideal for Ottoman Fleet, who won on the Rowley Mile in May.
Unibet 11/2 win
