THE King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Qipco Stakes looks a fascinating renewal with Love, who is looking for her fifth successive Group 1, taking on the Derby winner Adayar, who progressed massively from his Lingfield Derby Trial second, although there are mixed messages from subsequently runs of those filling the places in the Derby. The other three-year-old Lone Eagle is highly thought of and yet has a bit to find, whilst Mishriff’s Eclipse performance after a break was an anti-climax but one will expect more on Saturday. At the time of writing the current forecast for Ascot will see some rain on Saturday however, not enough to change the quick going, which is ideal for Love. Love is my nap once again, having been so for the 1,000 Guineas, Oaks and her Royal Ascot victory.

Away from a cracking King George VI renewal it would be great to see Motakhayyel follow up his top-class Bunbury Cup success at Newmarket in the Moët & Chandon International Stakes for Unibet Ambassador Richard Hannon

At York they have an excellent card, with the feature the Group 2 York Stakes, in which Mohaafeth is favourite and is on for a five-timer.

Enjoy all the action whether on course or #athome

Cheers

1.50 Ascot – Princess Margaret Keeneland Stakes Group 3 (6f)

Nazanin was sent off favourite when winning on her debut at Newbury last month, quickening in good style, whilst looking very green. That was on soft going and this daughter of Declaration Of War should be absolutely fine on the faster going. She looks sure to progress considerably from that debut and can come out on top against more experienced rivals.

3.00 Ascot – Moët & Chandon International Stakes Heritage Handicap (7f)

Motakhayyel for Unibet Ambassador Richard Hannon won his second Bunbury Cup off top weight again and was all class in victory here. Motakhayyel runs under a 3lb penalty and he is six pounds well in as his new mark is 118. Admittedly he’s never had a quick turnaround before and is of course carrying top weight of 9st 13lb, but he was so visually impressive at Newmarket. Importantly he has a course and distance win to his name in the Buckingham Palace at Royal Ascot 2020 too. The quick going will suit as he didn’t handle the soft conditions at Ascot when running over this trip in May.

Unibet 9/2 win

Unibet's 15 To Go will be available on this race.

Tadleel was fifth in the Bunbury Cup behind Motakhayyel when coming from the back of the stand side group to challenge late. He was overpriced that day at 66/1 and he was second on his penultimate start when breaking late from the stalls as the jockey was slow in removing his hood. Tadleel’s four career victories have all been over this trip, with the quick going suiting on his first start at Ascot. His trainer Richard Fahey has won three of the last ten renewals.

Unibet 25/1 each way

3.15 York – York Stakes Group 2 (1m 2½f)

Mohaafeth is looking to extend his unbeaten run in 2021 with a fifth successive victory. This three-year-old is a regular in my Unibet blog, having been tipped up on his last three starts, which includes his Royal Ascot Hampton Court victory, when he was always travelling well.

Mohaafeth’s main challenger is the four-year-old Armory, who has to give him twelve pounds and that looks prohibitive to success.

Unibet 11/8 win

3.35 Ascot – King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Qipco Stakes Group 1 (1m 4f)

Love (nap) will score her fifth successive Group 1 success and show us once again why she is such a brilliant filly. This daughter of the mighty Galileo looked as enthusiastic as ever when winning the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot over one mile two furlongs and showed determination too after a lengthy absence to hold of Audarya. Love is bound to step up considerably from her Royal Ascot success, with the return to one mile four furlongs and the quick going all in her favour.

Unibet 5/4 win

4.45 Ascot – Longines Handicap (For Female Amateur Jockeys) (7f)

Zlatan has been in cracking form on his last two starts with Sophie Smith in the plate, who again takes the ride. Zlatan won smoothly at Sandown over a mile on his penultimate start and then just lost out at Chester by a neck over half a furlong further than today’s trip. He’ll not mind any rain that falls throughout the day and there is sure to be a strong clip, which will suit Zlatan.

Unibet 11/4 win
