The final day of Royal Ascot 2024 features the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes Group 1 and a typically competitive Wokingham Stakes Heritage Handicap.

It would be great to tip up the winner of the Wokingham, having marked up Wild Tiger to win the Royal Hunt Cup and English Oak in the Buckingham Palace Stakes.

It has been a brilliant Royal Ascot 2024 and we are looking forward to more great racing on the final day.

Enjoy whether at Royal Ascot or watching all the races #athome on ITV Racing.

Cheers

3:45 Ascot – Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes Group 1 (6f)

Mitbaahy turned in a personal best when beating Regional in the Group 2 Greenlands Stakes at The Curragh last time. This form looks all the better as Regional only found the Aussie flying machine Asfoora a length too good in the King Charles III Stakes earlier in the week. It hasn’t taken Charles Hills long to get him back to his best, and in fact he looks better than ever at the age of five. Outpaced in the Kings Stand last year (ran on late), he’ll find this much more to his liking, and Jamie Spencer is always to be feared on the straight track here.

4:25 Ascot – Jersey Stakes Group 3 (7f)

Haatem (nap) simply doesn’t get the plaudits he deserves as he had nine starts as a two-year-old and there was a view about whether he could improve at the age of three for Unibet Ambassador Richard Hannnon. The assumption that his Craven romp was a fluke was rubbished when he finished third in the 2000 Guineas next time, and then dismissed entirely when only finding stablemate Rosallion a head too good in the Irish 2000 Guineas, form that’s already looking stronger after the winner took the St James’s Palace earlier in the week. This drop back to a stiff 7f won’t bother him at all, as he’s got the pace to lie up, and this does not look the classiest of Jersey Stakes ever seen.

5:05 Ascot – Wokingham Stakes Heritage Handicap (6f)

Rumstar ran an unexpectedly good race to finish a close fifth to Shaquille in the Commonwealth Cup last year and he showed that no fluke when a close sixth in the Hackwood Stakes on his next start; after needing the run at Bath first time out this year (where heavy ground was no use to him) he improved enormously to run the rejuvenated (and well-handicapped) Lethal Levi at Newbury last time. Has a good draw in stall 25 to work from and he should be doing plenty of good late running at a track that clearly suits.

Unequal Love is progressing all the time and there is plenty more to come from this four-year-old this season. She won a listed race at Newmarket at the Guineas meeting when doing all her best work at the finish. Unequal Love on her next and most recent start ran a blinder to finish fifth to Mitbaahy (see above) in the Group 2 Greenlands Stakes at the Curragh.

Apollo One has made the most appearances in my Unibet blog and he cannot be ignored in these big handicaps because on his last eleven starts he has only finished out of the first three on one occasion. This is a remarkable record, which includes seconds in the 2023 Wokingham and 2023 Stewards’ Cup. Apollo One clearly retains his zest as he was runner-up at Newmarket on his seasonal reappearance and third at Epsom when trying to lead throughout.

6:15 Ascot – Queen Alexandra Stakes (2m 5½f)

Run For Oscar was a somewhat unlucky third in this last year, not reality getting the best of runs late but once in the clear, stayed on well, and the trip looked no issue. He’s had a quiet prep this year, with two runs over trips on the short side for him, and his shrewd trainer looks to have laid him out perfectly again. Maxime Guyon a very interesting jockey booking too.

Unibet 5/1 win
