DAY two of the Moët & Chandon July Festival at Newmarket is headlined by Inspiral in the Group 1 Tattersalls Falmouth Stakes and she is Unibet 2/9 odds-on to retain her unbeaten record. Inspiral had to miss the Qipco 1,000 Guineas due to a setback and then on seasonal debut in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot she was brilliant. Frankie Dettori will be riding for John and Thady Gosden in this feature.

The Duchess Of Cambridge Stakes Group 2 is a strong renewal and Maylandsea can beat key rivals Lezoo and Mawj.

Enjoy whether at The July Festival or #athome watching on ITV Racing or Racing TV.

Cheers

1.50 Newmarket – Handicap (1m 2f)

Yonafis is unbeaten in three starts on the all-weather and ran better than his eighth on his first start on turf at Royal Ascot in the competitive Britannia Handicap would suggest, one of only three drawn 21+ to be in the first ten. This colt by Golden Horn will benefit from the step up to one mile two furlongs and this will bring out further improvement here. Yonafis has a strong chance for the William Haggas team.

Unibet 4/1 win

Reelemin is going for a three-timer, having won easily at Pontefract on his final start last season and then followed up at Sandown on seasonal debut when just winning after not getting a clear run. Reelemin’s three career victories have all been on turf and he looks more than capable of improving again in a deeper contest.

2.05 York – Handicap (1m 4f)

El Picador was unlucky not to have won here in May, as he had no run at a key time on the inside but stayed on well to be third. He won at Musselburgh two runs ago in a Sunday Series race over half a furlong further under a patient ride when moving smoothly from last to first. El Picador’s close fourth at Carlisle last time out was another good performance and he has a solid chance on his return to York.

Unibet 5/1 win

2.25 Newmarket – Dutchess Of Cambridge Stakes Group 2 (6f)

Maylandsea is sure to raise the bar again after her excellent second to Dramatised in the Queen Mary Stakes over five furlongs, which was a significant step up from Maylandsea’s winning debut at Nottingham. Maylandsea can record here second career victory moving up to six furlongs.

Unibet 7/4 win

3.00 Newmarket – Trophy Heritage Handicap (1m 6f)

Trawlerman (nap) was joint favourite with the emphatic winner of the Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes Handicap Candleford (likely favourite here) at Royal Ascot over two furlongs shorter than today’s trip when finishing unplaced. Trawlerman didn’t benefit from the stall 3 draw and made a slow start, which gave him no chance and then couldn’t get a clear run so Frankie Dettori didn’t give him a hard race.

The talent is there as he showed at Chelmsford on seasonal debut and last year when winning at Pontefract, beating the smart King Frankel by eight and half lengths ahead of a run in the Classic Trial at Sandown.

This is Trawlerman’s first trip over one mile six furlongs, which looks the distance for him, and the July course ought to see him at his best.

Dubai Welcome is a five-year-old having only his seventh career start (finished in first two on five occasions) and is making his third appearance of 2022 having missed 2021. His second to Nao Da Mais at Kempton on the all-weather last month over two furlongs shorter gave every impression that he will improve for a step up in trip here. His trainer Saeed Bin Suroor has his yard in excellent form and Dubai Welcome is a talented, interesting contender running off a low weight with each way claims.
