Day 4 of The Qatar Goodwood Festival features the King George Qatar Stakes Group 2, which sees the Royal Ascot King Charles III Stakes winner Asfoora Unibet 3/1 taking on the third Big Eves Unibet 5/2.
Big Eves won the Molecomb Stakes here last year on soft going and with the quicker ground suiting him he will be much closer to Asfoora than at Royal Ascot, however the Australian raider will still come out on top.
Enjoy whether at Goodwood or watching #athome on ITV Racing or Racing TV.
Cheers!

1:50 Goodwood – Goodwood Handicap (2m 4½f)
Temporize has appeared in my Unibet blog on several occasions, including last year when winning this race. He runs off a mark of 92, which is 10 lbs higher than his 2023 success, however he comes here in excellent form after showing great determination at Newbury last month when beating Naqeeb by a head. He was a good second on seasonal debut at Goodwood behind Pledgeofallegiance and then finished fifth behind the same rival in the Ascot Stakes.
Unibet 11/2 win
Tronador was third in this race in 2023 and finished sixth here to Tenerife Sunshine in June over a trip of two miles, which was too shorter trip for him. He was disappointing over hurdles last time out at Worcester and whilst he is not the most consistent, if you forgive that run, he can go well back at Goodwood over this distance.

3:00 Goodwood – Mile Handicap (1m)
Darkness was a non-runner earlier in the week, probably just as well as stall 15 might have been a big problem for him in the 7f handicap on Wednesday but he’s fared better with the draw here, pulling stall 8 out of the bag, and despite being both a recent winner at Newmarket and a good fifth in the Bunbury Cup last time out, he’s still on a lower mark than his fourth in the race last year, and has to be a player today.
He’s adaptable regarding the ground and David O’Meara, in an effort to win the race for the third time in five years, has thrown a few darts at the race again this time. Darkness looks to have an excellent each-way chance and can reward his followers again.

3:35 Goodwood – King George Qatar Stakes Group 2 (5f)
Asfoora (nap) delivered a striking performance at Royal Ascot with Big Eves in third and whilst Goodwood is a very different proposition for the Australian raider, she was so impressive in the way she drew clear that day that this mare can follow up on this much sharper track.
Unibet 3/1 win
5.20 Goodwood – Handicap (1m 3f)
Master Builder was due to run on Wednesday in the Handicap at 1.50, however was pulled out of because of the ground being too quick. There is forecast rain for Thursday afternoon and evening, which will hopefully be sufficient for Master Builder to take his place in the field. He has improved on all three starts so far and won well at Salisbury two starts ago when beating Subsequent and he was fifth last time out on the all-weather at Kempton when staying on well at the finish. Master Builder looks sure to be suited by this stamina test at Goodwood and he can reward each way players.
