DAY FOUR of Royal Ascot features a fantastic renewal of the Commonwealth Cup, with real strength in depth here and this looks like one of the races of Royal Ascot 2020.

Ascot are doing so well with their Royal Ascot At Home #StyledWithThanks campaign raising money for frontline charities, whilst getting everyone to have some fun and post some super pictures of Royal Ascot At Home 2020, whilst enjoying the top class racing.

This afternoon I will be suited and booted for a virtual wine tasting in between a couple of the races, featuring some of the wines from the Ascot Wine Club ahead of a lovely traditional afternoon tea!

Cheers

1.15 Palace Of Holyroodhouse Handicap (5f)

Show Me Show Me had some really good early season 2-year-old form, including an excellent third to Liberty Beach in the Molecomb at Goodwood. Needed first run back at Newcastle and with a distinct possibility of a pace collapse up front, is worth chancing each way at a big price to challenge late from stall 16. Unibet are paying AN EXTRA PLACE on this race.

1.50 – Albany Stakes Group 3 (6f)

Roger Varian won this last year with Daahyeh and has a strong hand with Setarhe, who won at Newmarket after travelling smoothly from last to first to beat Cirrus, who reopposes today.

That was eye-catching and whilst there are six other winning debutants in the field Setarhe looks the won to come out on top.

Unibet 6/1 each way

At a much bigger price Mahale for Mick Channon was a good fourth to Sacred, when staying on debut at Newmarket and wants this extra sixth furlong already. That was plenty to like about Mahale as she wasn’t knocked about and the way she was running on at the finish. Also, the form of the race is working out well with the 5th/6th/7th all coming out and winning next time.

Unibet 22/1 each way

3.00 – Hardwicke Stakes Group 2 (1m4f)

Antony Van Dyck (nap) hasn’t won since the Derby last year, yet his seasonal reappearance when second behind the exciting Ghaiyyath in the Coronation Cup at Newmarket over today’s trip looked rock solid. Aidan O’Brien’s charge ran enthusiastically, keeping on well and he can sit off the pace setters Communique and Elarqam to challenge late.

Unibet 2/1 win

3.35 – Commonwealth Cup Group 1 (6f)

Clive Cox’s Golden Horde showed in his six starts last season real class and determination, for example when beating Threat at Goodwood, whilst his second to Earthlight in the Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket on his last start is the classiest piece of form in this field. Golden Horde is also flexible on ground too, which isn’t true of many of his rivals. Unibet are paying AN EXTRA PLACE on this race.

Unibet 6/1 each way

4.10 – Queen’s Vase Group 2 (1m6f)

Berkshire Rocco for the Andrew Balding team ran a good race, considering he got involved in a duel for the early pace, to be second to English King at Lingfield, and if he’s a worthy Derby favourite then Berkshire Rocco must have a good chance here. At Lingfield the step up in trip really suited, with the extra two and half furlongs today looking sure to be an advantage based on pedigree. Berkshire Rocco is also ground versatile.

Unibet 7/2 win

4.40 – Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes Handicap (1m4f)

West End Charmer can notch up a hat-trick here, having won his last start of 2019 ahead of looking really progressive at Newmarket on seasonal debut. He has a 4lb penalty as a result but still looks well in for the Mark Johnston team, whose Baghdad won this last year. Unibet are paying AN EXTRA PLACE on this race.

Unibet 6/1 each way
