THE final day of Royal Ascot 2020 and a cracking eight race card for us all to enjoy as everyone takes part in Royal Ascot At Home. With three Group One’s, the Wokingham and Silver Wokingham there is plenty to keep everyone involved as well as taking in afternoon tea in-between races.
There are a few horses running this afternoon with drink related names including Pass The Vino and Tinto, who both have really good chances, as well as Sparkling Perry who runs in the 1.15 Queen Mary Stakes.
Enjoy a fantastic Saturday afternoon.
Cheers

12.40 – Silver Wokingham Handicap (6f)
Blue Mist (NAP) for inform Roger Charlton has a really good chance here he will now super fit after finishing second on his reappearance at Newbury when not knocked about.
The ground will be ideal and dropping back to a stiff six furlongs looked sure to suit combined with his previous Ascot experience. Blue Mist has won over a mile here and finished third behind Ascot specialist Raising Sand last year in a hot handicap over seven furlongs, with today’s six furlongs looking ideal out of stall 20.

Pass The Vino was tipped up a big price last year for the Newmarket July meeting and whilst his form trailed off at the end of last season, he can get right in the picture here off a mark of 94. On seasonal debut he finished third behind Tinto (see 4.10) at Newmarket in what was a truly ran race and he will certainly come on for that run. He has the Ascot experience too when second here in the Shergar Cup. With the ground drying out he rates a good double figure each way play.

1.50 – Coventry Stakes Group 2 (6f)
Lauded looks a very good each way price after cruising to victory under a hand and heels ride from Richard Kingscote at Haydock for the Tom Dascombe team in debut.
It was good to soft that day so conditions will suit and stall 16 looks a good draw.

2.25 – Coronation Stakes Group 1 (1m)
Quadrilateral pulled too hard in the 1,000 Guineas and she couldn’t match the first two because of this, however it is very interesting that Roger Charlton has decided to keep her to a mile.
Last season she won twice on good to soft, including October’s Fillies’ Mile at Newmarket and with course and ground to suit she has a good opportunity to strike here.
Unibet 17/8 win
3.00 – St James’s Palace Stakes Group 1 (1m)
Charlie Appleby didn’t hesitate in saying that Pinatubo would head to Ascot after his 2,000 Guineas third. Whilst it was obvious in the paddock beforehand at Newmarket that others had developed more over the winter, this super talented individual can win Group 1’s in 2020.
I think also think he can reverse places with Wichita, who finished second in the 2,000 Guineas and that ground conditions will suit Pinatubo more.
Unibet 15/8 win

3.35 – Diamond Jubilee Stakes Group 1 (6f)
Khaadem looked super impressive when winning the Unibet Stewards Cup’ at Goodwood and whilst he didn’t go on in the way expected at the end of the season his trainer Charlie Hills, trainer of Battaash, expects big things from his charge.
Unibet 7/1 each way
4.10 – Wokingham Stakes Heritage Handicap (6f)
Tinto looked seriously impressive on seasonal debut at Newmarket when winning in great style (Pass The Vino third) and how he went off at 40/1 was beyond me given his handicap form. He was six career from 30 starts, including a course and distance success in soft ground here last October. Marco Ghiani was on Tinto that day and takes the ride here today cancelling out the five-pound rise of Tinto’s Newmarket success.

Lethal Lunch could run a big race from stall 22 for the Clive Cox team. He is a course and distance winner on good ground and can get right in the mix on his start in 2020.
