A FANTASTIC three days of racing to look forward to with the Moët & Chandon July Festival at Newmarket and with a ten-race card at York for their Dante meeting we are in for a bumper Thursday of racing.
The Newmarket team have been doing a brilliant job and it is great to have racing at York for the first time in 2020, with the Musidora and Dante as the feature races. Ricetta looks very exciting in the Musidora, whilst Highest Ground is a bit too short for my liking in the Dante.
Enjoy a fantastic Thursday.
Cheers

12.45 Newmarket – Price Promise Handicap 6f
Although there are showers forecast it all looks fine for Pass The Vino to take his chance tomorrow. Last year I tipped up Pass The Vino at 25/1 in my Unibet column and whilst he is not that price this time around, he is still a good each way bet.
On his seasonal debut on the Rowley Mile in June he ran pretty free, finishing third behind Tinto (ran really well at Sandown on Sunday in the Group 3 Coral Charge) with Summerghand in second, the Wokingham runner up and Pontefract winner this week.
Last season Pass The Vino followed up his July success with a good second at Newmarket HQ ahead of heading to Ascot to finish second at the Shergar Cup meeting. This looks the time of year to catch him right.
Unibet 15/2 each way
2.25 Newmarket – Bahrain Trophy Stakes Group 3 (1m5f)
Dawn Rising (nap) for the Aidan O’Brien team is improving very quickly and looks the one to take the biggest step forward this afternoon. Dawn Rising is by Galileo and is bred to stay the trip, having cruised up at Limerick last time out over one mile four furlongs. On his penultimate start Dawk Rising was doing all his best work in the last part of the contest over one mile two furlongs, when fourth to Galileo Chrome and one place ahead of Serpentine!
Unibet 5/2 win
2.40 York – Tattersalls Musidora Stakes Group 3 (1m 2½f)
With Ricetta a short price I like the look of Baarrij each way for William Haggas. She has plenty to find on the form but won well at when scoring at Windsor last month on her second career start, with the second winning since.
She is very well bred, open to rapid improvement and the William Haggas yard are flying.
Unibet 14/1 each way
3.00 Newmarket – Tattersalls July Stakes Group 2 (6f)
An intriguing July Stakes and I like the look of Tactical to follow up on his Royal Ascot success in the Windsor Castle as he will just keep improving. There is plenty to like about his attitude and is interesting to note that the Andrew Balding team are in much better now than they were at Royal Ascot, which adds to Tactical’s success.
Unibet 5/2 win
Victory Heights is an each way selection here, having finished sixth to Tactical in the Windsor Castle at Royal Ascot, when doing all his best work over the final furlong. On that occasion Victory Heights was right out the back and it was clear with the rapid progress he was making towards the finish that the extra furlong will really suit him today. James Tate’s charge won on his career appearance at Newcastle on debut.
Unibet 18/1 each way
3.35 Newmarket – Heritage Handicap (6f)
Volatile Analyst for Keith Dalgleish has top weight but not yet had a chance in a big handicap to show if well treated or not. He was beaten four lengths by Golden Horde at Goodwood last year, when surrounded by Group types. He won on seasonal debut last month and could be well drawn (pace middle/high) to and track will suit.
