TODAY'S racing sees jump action at Fontwell and Punchestown, with flat racing at Yarmouth, Haydock, Hamilton and the all-weather at Kempton. Coverage on Racing TV this week has understandably seen very slow times and plenty of surprises too. Today’s action outside of Kempton will definitely be one for mudlarks, including my nap Cliff in the 2.00 at Yarmouth.
This Friday and Saturday will feature some excellent racing at York and you have to be impressed with the excellent job that William Derby does in promoting this wonderful racecourse. William achieves the right balance of eloquence and passion, with all the key facts nicely blended in.
Outside of York, another of my favourite racecourses Sandown features a two day meeting too, whilst Goodwood and Aintree are racing on Friday as well. Time to book a day’s holiday for Friday!
2.00 Yarmouth Handicap 6f
Cliff (nap) has been found a good opportunity here and he is going to find the soft conditions much more in his favour than many of these. He’s shaped nicely on his last two starts and looks about ready to win one again. 1lb lower than last win, and hard to see him not running a decent race here.

3.00 Yarmouth Handicap 1m 3½f
Seventii is another that’s hard to catch right but there’s no arguing about a couple on her recent efforts and she’ll enjoy the softer underfoot conditions than most of these. Could be well drawn in stall 13 too, and she should be going close today.
Her one career success was here at Yarmouth over today’s trip in the soft.

6.50 Kempton Novice Stakes 1m 3f
Skerryvore for James Fanshawe is a good-looking individual that ran well at Nottingham first time up, but even better in a Windsor maiden that should work out well, finishing a staying-on fourth. This looks a decent contest on paper and he has more to find, but he’s going the right way and needs following, whatever he does here. Each-way chances at worst with another step forward.
Unibet each way 33/1
7.20 Kempton Handicap 1m 3f
Baasem for Owen Burrows is not really improving as expected this season, but he’s a big, well-built gelding that has possibly needed both starts this season to get him fit. Looked badly in need of another furlong at Leicester last time, which he gets here, drops in grade, and it’s simply too soon to be writing him off as yet.
Unibet win 9/2
