NEWMARKET

1:50 Maiden Fillies’

Tiritomba (Sean Levey)

She ran very green on debut at Windsor but really got the hang of things in the closing stages and stayed on really well so the step up to seven furlongs will really help. Whether she’s good enough to win a race like this around here only time will tell but she’s improved for her first run and will like the ground.

2:20 Handiap

Motakhayyel (Sean Levey)

He’s a real smart colt who has done nothing wrong in three starts to date. I think he’ll improve for the step back up to a mile and I’m very hopeful he can run a big race.

2:55 G2 Superlative Stakes

Mystery Power (Oisin Murphy)

I think his class saw him through when he won at a Haydock as he’s not a mud lark and could be even better on better ground. We’ve always liked him and for one of ours to win first time out says a lot about their ability. This is obviously a big step up but he’s there to give it his best shot.

Wild Thunder (Sean Levey)

Maybe I’m biased but I’m a big fan of Night Of Thunders and this horse, along with Man Of The Night, are both by him and won first time up. This colt is impeccably well bred and has done everything right. As with our other runner, this is a step up in grade but he’ll improve for going up to 7f and I really rate his chances. He could be extremely smart.

4:05 Fillies’ Handicap

Aim Power (Oisin Murphy)

She wasn’t disgraced in the Sandringham at Royal Ascot last time but I think a fast seven furlongs is just what she wants and she’s arguably better on decent ground as well. The Handicapper has dropped her to 88 which is a career low mark and on her best form she would have every chance.

YORK

3:50 Novice Stakes

Leroy Leroy (Rachel Richardson)

He's a really consistent colt who will absolutely love the ground and has a lovely attitude. His work has been good and I think this is his best trip so I'm hopeful he'll go well. Obviously races like this are very competitive and the draw could have been kinder but he's in good form at home and did a nice piece of work this week. With luck in running he should outrun some very reasonable odds and a repeat of his Redcar run could see him involved in the finish!

5:00 Novice Stakes

Oh Purple Reign (Rossa Ryan)

The winner got first run on him at Chelmsford last time so I’m going to let him off one more time. You can’t knock his consistency but he has a winner’s penalty to carry here which will make things hard for him again. This real quick ground should help, though.

5:35 Nursery

Endowed (Rossa Ryan)

He’s run three solid races so steps into Handicap company for the first time off what could be an attractive mark of 77. His work is more than good enough to suggest he should be capable of winning this.

ASCOT

1:45 Handicap

Moyassar (Jim Crowley)

It took him a while to get his head in front but he’s quickly developing into a decent sprinter and I was really impressed with his win at Newmarket earlier this season. He’s got a lot of pace so will sit quite handy and the drop back to five furlongs won’t be a problem. I fancy him to run a big race.

Embour (Pat Dobbs)

There’s nothing not to like about this horse as he’s probably the most consistent in the yard. He put up a good performance to win at Windsor last time so is off a career high mark now but I’m very happy with him and love his attitude. If he can maintain his good form, he would have a very realistic chance in this.

2:15 Novice Auction

Hermano Bello (Fergus Sweeney)

He’s a talented colt by Youmzain whose work has been good but he’ll definitely improve of the run and I’ll be inclined to look elsewhere first time out.

Manigordo (Pat Dobbs)

I quite fancied him to go close on debut at Newmarket but he made a mess of the start and the ran quite green so he’ll definitely be sharper this time around. His work is very good and he’ll love the quick ground. I’ll be disappointed if he can’t go extremely close in this.

2:50 Fillies’ Handicap

Quick (Pat Dobbs)

Like her sire, Olympic Glory, she is quickly developing a liking for soft ground so any rain that falls will certainly be in her favour. But she’s handicapped now so is in the right grade and if coping with the surface she could run a nice race.

4:35 Handicap

Floating Artist (Pat Dobbs)

I’m hoping the combination of a step up in trip, better ground and first race in a Handicap will see him in a much better light than his previous couple of runs as the jury is currently out at the moment! He has a lot of ability and his work is always very good so I’m looking forward to seeing what he can do here but my only concern is that he lacks the experience of some which will count against him in a race with the likes of Mind The Crack in the field.

5:10 Handicap

Mr Tyrrell (Hollie Doyle)

I’ve an inkling he’s slightly better over a mile so we’ll make plenty of use of him over this trip and I’m hopeful he can run a sound race. He’s very consistent and tries his best but does race off a career high mark and I’m not really sure there’s much more improvement in him. That said, he’s tough and consistent and is surely each way material.

CHESTER

2:35 Fillies’ Handicap

Come On Leicester (Richard Kingscote)

She was a very smart two year old who is yet to win this season but she’s shown enough to suggest that there’s another race in her and I think a tight track like this will really suit her; she’s also not badly drawn in 3. In all fairness this doesn’t look the strongest of fillies’ races therefore I think she has solid claims on her best form.

3:10 Listed City Plate

Oh This Is Us (Colm O’Donoghue)

I think he’s almost unbeaten at the track, or he’s certainly got a good record there anyway having won this race last year. He owes us absolutely nothing and has been a real star for the yard across at Everleigh. Things didn’t pan out for him at Windsor last time and I thought the ground may have been too soft at York the time before. We have to do very little with him at home as he keeps himself fit and he handles his racing very well so I’m reasonably optimistic he can run another big race here.

5:30 Apprentice Handicap

Chatham House (Thore Hammer-Hansen)

I’m amazed he’s still a Maiden as he’s finished placed in six of his eight starts so I have to admit it is getting quite frustrating. His work is absolutely fine and I think a track like this could really suit him as it’ll keep him guessing because they are always on the turn. Thore rode him earlier in the week and was happy so there are no excuses today. He’s running for his life.

SALISBURY

5:50 Novice Stakes

D Day (Fergus Sweeney)

He’s quite a precocious colt by War Command who is related to several winners so should know his game. I’ve been happy with his work and this looks a very good starting point.

Premium Bond (John Fahy)

He ran very green on debut at Lingfield but will be much sharper this time. To be honest I think he’ll be better over further but I’m happy with him and he has a chance.

6:20 Handicap

Glory (Martin Dwyer)

He’s been gelded since his last run in May and the Handicapper has given him a bit of a chance by dropping him down to 71. I don’t think 6f is his optimum and he’ll come on for the run but he worked well the other day and it wouldn’t surprise me to see him run a good race.

6:50 Novice Stakes

Posted (Tom Marquand)

I thought she ran well at Doncaster last time and I don’t think she’d have to be up to much to win this. Obviously the Tregoning horse and Bin Suroor debutante look the ones to focus on but our horse will certainly be there to pick up the pieces.

7:50 Handicap

Birthright (Tom Marquand)

He has his first run of the season so is entitled to need it but he ran some nice races last season and I think he’s ready for the step up in trip. It’s only a small field and doesn’t look the strongest race on the planet so I could certainly make a case for him if he can overcome the lack of a recent run.

8:50 Handicap

Purbeck Hills (Fergus Sweeney)

It’s last chance saloon for him as he shown pretty much nothing at all so far this season and it would be foolish of me to tip him up here when his form is there for all to see.
