NEWMARKET – FRIDAY
1:15 Maiden
Ehraz (Jim Crowley)
He’s a very nice colt by Showcasing from the family of top sprinter Pearl Secret who shows plenty at home and is a horse we think an awful lot of.
This is a typical Newmarket Maiden, and if he can finish in the first three he’ll have run very well, but we’ve won this race before and Jim came and had a sit on him the other day and was very happy afterwards so with a bit of luck he can go close.
3:35 G1 Tattersalls Falmouth Stakes
Snow Lantern (Sean Levey)
I was absolutely delighted with her run in the Coronation Stakes at Ascot last time on ground that certainly wouldn’t have been her optimum yet her raw ability got her through and who knows if she’d had a clearer run she may have finished a lot closer to the winner, if not managed to get in front herself. The ground here should be ideal and she’s settled down nicely in her races and at home as well so she goes there in great form.
It would be fantastic if she could make amends for what happened to her dam, Sky Lantern, who was literally nudged out by Elusive Kate in this race in 2013.
It’s a relatively quiet Friday for us but we have a couple of runners elsewhere including River Pride who is drawn very well In the 6:30 at Chester and the drop back down to six should suit so I’d be hopeful of a good performance from her and Tyson will hopefully produce a knockout blow in the 1:05 at Ascot on his first run in Nursery Company.
