SUNDAY – SANDOWN
3:45
Macanudo (Kieran Shoemark)
It was extremely soft ground at Goodwood last time, and he probably didn’t quite see out the trip as well, so I’m happy to draw a line through that and he’ll be much happier under these conditions.
He’s got lots of speed, therefore won’t mind the step back in trip (to five furlongs) and the blinkers keep him sharp. It’s a wide open race but he’s in good shape and has a very realistic chance at a nice each way price.
Notta Nother (Alec Voikhansky)
He was second over course and distance in June and finished his race well at Windsor last time. I think he’s fully effective at five and six (furlongs) so a stiff five here should suit. His work is always pretty good and, as with our other runner, he has a great shout at nice odds.
PONTEFRACT
3:25
The Big Board (Harry Davies)
She’s a tough filly who has done very well already this season but it would be nice to gain some valuable Black Type. She’s won twice over the trip so I’m not worried about the step back up and ground-wise she’s very versatile. If she can bounce back from an unusual below-par effort last time, she would have to be taken very seriously.
