As I mentioned last week, we took the decision not to run Rosallion in a Guineas Trial because the ground just won’t be dry enough, and if he ends up having a hard race, there’s only two weeks until the 2000 Guineas, so it was an easy decision to make. He galloped at Kempton last week, where he worked well, and he’ll go back again for another away day which should put him spot on.
We have a few runners heading to HQ on Wednesday and I’m hopeful they can all run well.
NEWMARKET
1:50
Wallop (Alec Voikhansky)
He’s had a few niggly issues which have kept him off the track, and he’s having only the fifth start of his career, but he’s very talented and is a colt we like a lot. The ground will be fine and we’re taking 3lbs off for his Handicap debut. This is a decent race, and I expect him to come on for the run, but I’ll be disappointed if he doesn’t at least show up pretty well.
Dark Thirty (Sean Levey)
He is a very tough colt with a great attitude and seems to handle any ground. Six furlongs is on the sharp side, but we might get away with it first time out, and he’s been away to gallop so is quite straight.
4:10
Lucid (Sean Levey)
She’s a pretty sharp filly by Acclamation, with plenty of winners in her pedigree, and has been working nicely at home. As you know, Newmarket Fillies’ Maidens are always quite decent, but she has ability and could finish in the money.
KEMPTON
We have three runners this evening at Kempton where I see Unibet are sponsoring the card so it would be nice to win some money off them!
Hatadora has put up two solid efforts since switched to Handicaps and drops back to seven furlongs in the 6:00. She should go close.
Sighter is an improving filly, who won nicely on Handicap debut at Chelmsford in February and is only a few pounds higher, so is in with a shout in the 7:00.
Claxton Bay was much too keen at Lingfield last time but has been dropped another pound and could be competitive in the 8:00.
