ROYAL ASCOT – THURSDAY

3:05 King George V Stakes

Persica (Sean Levey)

We were looking at several options with him, but he saw out the trip well at Epsom last time so we’re going up to a mile and a half and, on good ground like this, I don’t think it will be a problem. He’s 9lbs higher now but is a very progressive colt and hopefully there is still more to come.

5:05 Britannia Stakes

The Camden Colt (Sean Levey)

He’s a colt with plenty of ability and it’s just a case of things going his way for him to be seen at his best. Fast ground seems to suit and he comes into this off a nice low weight. It’s a typically competitive race but he’s consistent and could go well at a bit of a price.

Blue Lemons (Jamie Spencer)

He looked to get outpaced at Haydock last time, but finished his race well, and the likely fast pace here is just what he wants. The Handicapper has dropped him a few pounds and he’ll suit Jamie’s style of riding as he’ll put him to sleep at the back of the pack before coming with a winning run a furlong out and get him up on the line; Well, that’s what we’d like to happen!

6:15 Buckingham Palace Stakes

Dark Thirty (Sean Levey)

Nothing went right for him at Epsom last time, and I’m not convinced he really handled the track that well. A fast run seven furlongs is right up his street and he represents solid each way value, especially if Unibet are paying extra places; are they?

Tacarib Bay (Alec Voikhansky)

We thought he was our Guineas horse a couple of years ago, and while that didn’t work out, he always shown plenty of ability and I think he’s come down to quite an attractive mark. He stays further and I wouldn’t be surprised if he puts up a decent show after a little bit of a break which has freshened him up nicely.
