NEWMARKET – SUNDAY

1:15pm

RIVER ALWEN

He is a very talented horse who would’ve needed his first run of the season at Newbury so I expect him to strip much fitter here and I think he has a very big chance on his first start in the Handicap

FOUNTAIN CROSS

He was a pretty smart two-year-old who showed some decent form but I think now is the time to step him up in trip and hopefully he can run a nice race, but he does need to improve a little bit.

3:00pm

POSTED

She used to be quite a buzzy filly but has really calmed down a lot at home and on the racecourse and we used to put a red hood on her to go down to start but she doesn’t need that now. She’s always shown a decent level of form and wasn’t disgraced in a Group 3 last backend. On her very best form she has every chance.

4:15pm

SECRET STRENGTH

He is a lovely colt by Mehmas, who we of course know very well, and he’s has already made a very bright start to his stallion career. This lad was purchased at the Breeze Up Sales and has shown plenty at home to suggest he can go very close in this. He is a nice horse.

SALISBURY

1:00pm

BANNER MOONSHINE

She is quite a big filly who still carries a little bit of condition but she’s got a lot of talent and everything she’s done at home has been really pleasing. She will improve for this run but it wouldn’t surprise me to see her more than capable of winning

1:30pm

STATE SECRETARY

He probably should have won at Chelmsford but just edged ever so slightly right which was the difference between winning and losing. That run will have sharpened him up nicely and I'll be surprised if he's not capable of going extremely close.

PROFESSOR CALCULUS

I was a little bit disappointed with him at Newbury because he’s been showing quite a lot on the gallops so I’m hoping he will come on plenty for it because on his homework he has every chance.

2:35pm

GUSTAV HOLST

He ran a great race on Dave you at Leicester and I think he’s improved a lot for it. Andrew Balding’s horse was third behind Aristia at Newbury and she’s a filly we think an awful lot of so is probably the one we’ve got to beat.

3:10pm

GENUFLEX

His last couple of runs were disappointing but I think he’s grown a lot over the winter and developed into a strong horse. This, however, looks a competitive Handicap and he will improve fitness wise for it.
