I thought he was quite professional when winning on debut at Ffos Las and he appears to have come out of it well. Quite how strong that race was, only time will tell, and this is obviously a jump up in class and trip, but whatever happens here, he’s a nice colt whose best days are ahead of him.
He’s run twice at Goodwood and finished third on both occasions, so deserves to get his head in front and he was very unlucky not to win at Catterick last time. The drop back to five furlongs won’t be a problem and he has a solid chance in a race where I see a Unibet are paying FIVE places each way!
He’s a colt by Sergio Prokofiev, who is a sire I like, and a few of the guys who’ve ridden him at home have been very complimentary about his work. It’s a valuable prize, so has understandably attracted a big field, but I certainly wouldn’t put you off having a few quid each way. He could be quite nice.
Vintage Heat (Jamie Spencer)
He’s by Too Darn Hot and has done some good work at home. Whether he’s quite ready to win first time up I’m not entirely sure, but he is definitely a colt with a future.
