NEWMARKET

3:40 G1 2000 Guineas

Lusail (Pat Dobbs)

He ran very well in the Greenham and Dobbsy got off him and said he raced quite lazily and that he could’ve been closer if the ground was even quicker so the faster the ground the better! This is obviously another big step up but I don’t think he’ll have a problem getting a mile and hopefully he’ll be sharper for that first run. We’ve won the Guineas with big priced horses before and while Native Trail will be extremely hard to beat, there is only one Guineas and he’s there to give it his very best shot.

Tacarib Bay (Sean Levey)

He’s a very nice colt and I was extremely pleased with the way he finished off his race last time over seven furlongs which suggests the step up to a mile could bring out more improvement. His sire, Night Of Thunder, won this for us a few years ago and while this lad has a little to find, he’s still unexposed and I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see him finish in the money.

Razzle Dazzle (Ryan Moore)

He was a little disappointing on his final run last year but he’s better than that and his work has been very good. This is his first run in a Handicap and it will be interesting to see how accurately he’s treated off a mark of 98.

5:25 Hcap

Robjon (Pat Dobbs)

He wasn’t beaten that far over course and distance at the Craven meeting which was another step in the right direction and the handicapper has dropped him a couple of pounds. He’s generally quite consistent and should run another decent race.

GOODWOOD

1:35 Hcap

Captains Bar (Jim Crowley)

He would have badly needed his first run back but he’s come on plenty for it and the step up to seven furlongs will suit really well. The faster the ground the better and he’s not out of it.

2:10 Maiden

God Of Thunder (Sam Hitchcott)

He was quite green and ran with the choke out for much of the way on his debut at Newbury but he’ll have learnt plenty from it and I’d expect him to be more polished here, although I do think he’s more of a Handicapping prospect further down the line.

4:55 Hcap

Flintstone (Andrea Atzeni)

He stayed on nicely to the line at Chelmsford so the step up in distance will definitely help and he’s been in good shape at home. He’s fit and well and deserves to get his head in front.

DONCASTER

6:00 Hcap

Ardbraccan (Rossa Ryan)

She’s a real tough, gutsy filly who had some decent form as a two year old and she’s grown a lot over the winter. She likes fast ground, which she’s got here, and she could be nicely treated off her mark stepping up to a mile.

Tropez Power (Thore Hammer Hansen)

He was quite keen on his first run back at Doncaster last time and didn’t last home because he pulled so hard so we’re dropping back in distance and hopefully that first run would have blown the cobwebs away and he’ll be more settled here. I can see him going well.

7:35 Hcap

Reverend Hubert (Rossa Ryan)

He improved for the step up to two miles at Chelmsford on his first run back and I think he could end up quite a nice horse over staying trips this season. The Handicapper put him up 5lbs so he’s got to pull even more out, and he wouldn’t want the ground too fast, but he’s in good form and goes there with a great chance.
