QATAR GOODWOOD FESTIVAL  – FRIDAY

1:50 G3 Oak Tree Stakes

Billesdon Brook (Sean Levey)

She’s won twice around here and been placed a couple of times so there’s no doubt she loves the place and her last two runs have been excellent. The drop back to 7f isn’t an issue and she seems to be thriving since we switched her over to Everleigh. It’s a tough race but she’s in great shape and I hope she can go very well.

3:00 Unibet Golden Mile

War Glory (Sean Levey)

He looks quite well drawn in four and has the ability to finish in the money, for sure. However, he’s plenty high enough in the weights and he’ll have to produce a career best to win but he’s a real tough nut and the fast pace will really suit him so I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see him picking them all off at the end.

Beat Le Bon (Pat Dobbs)

This has long been the plan and I’m pleased he’s finally showing what we knew he was always capable of. I still think there is a Group race in him but this is an ideal opportunity to gain some valuable prize money and, since switching to Herridge, he seems to have improved mentally and he’d have to be taken very seriously.

4:10 Unibet Nursery

Separate (Sean Levey)

She’s got plenty of speed so a track like this is right up her street and I thought she ran a great race in the Super Sprint last time. She keeps herself fit so we’ve not had to do anything at home with her and I see no reason why she can’t run a big race.

Hard Nut (Oisin Murphy)

I didn’t think he’d win at Newbury last time but he proved me wrong and is quickly developing into a smart colt. He goes on any ground and has been in fine form at home. He’d have to be in with a big chance here.

5:15 Handicap

Mordred (Sean Levey)

He was a pretty smart two year old but is yet to show the same sort of form this season so I couldn’t be overly confident. That said he’s going up in trip so he should be able to settle into a nice rhythm and might reward each way support.
