ROYAL ASCOT – FRIDAY

2:30 Albany Stakes

Kemble (Pat Dobbs)

We took her out of the Queen Mary on Wednesday because there was plenty of rain around earlier in the week but the forecast is for drier weather so hopefully it will be decent ground come Friday. She showed a lot of speed to win easily at Windsor on her second start and I liked the way she finished the race. The second has come out and won at Bath so the form has a strong look to it and I’ve been particularly happy with her wellbeing over the past week or so. A fast paced race like this will really suit her running style and I think she is improving with experience. This is obviously a very competitive race but she has a lot of ability and is certainly in with a chance up in trip.

Separate (Sean Levey)

She had to win at Lingfield last time judged on her previous two runs and she duly obliged so comes into this in good form. I like her attitude and she seems pretty versatile ground-wise. This is obviously a completely different ball game but she’s drawn well and will be suited by the step up to six furlongs.

5:00 Sandrimgham Stakes

Aim Power (Silvestre De Sousa)

She kept good company as a two year old and has always maintained a decent level of form but sadly often finds a couple too good. I don’t think she disgraced herself on her first run back and she’ll definitely strip fitter for it. This is a tough race but 1m is her trip and I think she has a cracking each way shout.

Star Of War (Jimmy Quinn)

She’s out of the handicap by a couple of pounds so has to really step up but her work has been very good and all three runs this year have been good. She’ll be a big price but we’ve seen some strange results already this week so I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see her run a decent race at large odds.
