GOODWOOD – TUESDAY

2:25 G2 Vintage Stakes

An Outlaw’s Grace (Sean Levey)

He was very impressive when winning on debut and stepped up even more on that to finish fourth in the Prix Robert Papin (G2) when I thought he was quite unlucky not to have finished closer. That was obviously a great effort and the way he stayed on (over six) suggests he can only improve for the step up to this trip. He is a colt with a lot of ability, and he’ll go on the ground.

4:45 Maiden

Wheels Of Fire (Tom Marquand)

I was delighted with his first run at Windsor, where he probably could’ve gone a lot closer (beaten a length) had he not got caught behind a wall of horses. That race has worked out ok and after getting beaten there the plan was always to come here. It would be great if he could win for Al Shaqab, who support this meeting, and he’s a colt we like an awful lot.

Mukaber (William Buick)

He ran much better at Nottingham last time (on his first run since being gelded) and with expected improvement, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him on the premises.

5:20 Fillies’ Handicap

Circe (Hollie Doyle)

She got put up 4lbs for winning at Newbury last time, which is fair, and she’s a really tough filly with a great attitude. Hollie gets the leg up again and she has a rock-solid chance.

5:55 Handicap

Dapperling (Sam Hitchcott)

She ran well on her first run back, although has been slightly below par since, but she’s a filly with loads of pace so a track like this will suit. If you go back to her second in the Super Sprint, she’s entitled to go well at decent odds with Unibet.
