Gustav Holst (James Doyle)
He’s still a Maiden and is plenty high enough in the weights for what he’s actually achieved but he ran well at Newbury last time where he wasn’t beaten all that far and a reproduction of that effort would give him a small each way chance.

Oh Herberts Reign (Rossa Ryan)
He was very unlucky not to hold on over course and distance last time when conceding 8lbs to the eventual winner and the handicapper has put him up another 2lbs so he’s now off a career high mark and up in grade, therefore has plenty to do. But he’s fit and well and is very consistent.

Captain’s Bar (Rossa Ryan)
He was a little bit disappointing at Hamilton last time but he didn’t get the best of runs at a crucial stage so I’ll draw a line through it. He’s won over course and distance so clearly likes the track and the drop down to a Class 5 will help along with the first time blinkers.
GOODWOOD

Lulworth Cove (Sean Levey)
She’s a nice filly by New Bay who is from a lovely family and I think she could end up quite smart. This looks a decent Maiden, however, and she will come on for the experience but I’m hopeful she can be thereabouts.

Gisburn (Sean Levey)
I was delighted to see him win at Newbury last October having missed a lot of the season after running disappointingly in the Coventry where he got badly jarred up. He’s been in very good form since he came back in and seven furlongs around Goodwood will be ideal. We’ve always liked him and he is ofobvious interest, although giving weight all round won’t make things easy.
Bosh (Jamie Spencer)
He’s always been a very smart colt with some strong form to his name and I was extremely pleased with his comeback run at Newbury last month. That will have sharpened him up nicely and the trip and ground are ideal. He got put up for Newbury so is now off 97 which means he’s got to step up again but he’s smart and has every chance.
River Pride (Pat Dobbs)
I think she finds six furlongs slightly on the sharp side so we’re going back up to seven, which is the distance both her wins have come over, and she’s a filly with a lovely attitude who takes her racing well and to be honest it’s hard to separate all of our thee runners.
