NEWMARKET

2:05

Ellade (James Doyle)

She showed a good attitude to win at Newbury a couple of starts ago but her form hasn’t been great in two subsequent runs but she’s very talented on her day and any give in the ground will aid her cause.

Laasudood (Christophe Soumillon)

He was very good at Doncaster and is a horse we think an awful lot of. This is a decent Handicap but he’s an extremely classy colt who is improving all the time and I’d like to think he’ll end up in Pattern Company before the season is out so I’d be expecting a bold show here.

Dark Thirty (Christophe Soumillon)

He won nicely on debut then put up a good performance in the Chesham and he’s a colt we like quite a lot. Despite it being a small field, this is a very competitive Superlative but he deserves to be there and we’ll know a lot more about future targets after the race. He’s got class and should go well.

4:25

Happy Romance (Sean Levey)

She ran another excellent race in the Platinum Jubilee last time and has been in great form at home since. Six furlongs on good ground are her optimum conditions and I can’t see any reason why she won’t put up another good show at decent odds. She’s surely solid each way material.

Starnberg (Pat Dobbs)

He’s a nice colt by Clodovil who has done everything we’ve asked at home but without us really pushing the buttons. Like a lot of ours, he’ll come on for the run but he’s ready to go and should run a nice race.

2:25

Reverend Hubert (Pat Dobbs)

I thought he ran ok at Newcastle last time and he seems to be in good form at home. The Handicapper’s dropped him a pound, which is a bit of a help, and he’s pretty consistent so goes there with solid credentials stepping back down in grade.

3:35

Chindit (Pat Dobbs)

This race is tailor made for him and his form is there for all to see. Perhaps he didn’t put up his best performance in the Queen Anne last time but this is obviously a lot more easier and he goes there as a worthy favourite.

4:45

System (Pat Dobbs)

She hasn’t won for a while and is yet to really prove she’s trained on, but she was a very good two year old and could be quite interesting if she stays the trip. Her work is always very good and I wouldn’t entirely write her off at a track that she’s run well at before.

5:20

Mr Tyrrell (Hollie Doyle)

He’s gradually coming down to a much more workable mark and he likes fast ground. He didn’t put up the best of shows at Bath last time but he’s pretty solid in this sort of grade and fast ground suits him best.

We’ve got a few runners at Salisbury who all have their own chances and Rousay would probably be the best of them in the Handicap at 7:15. She ran well over course and distance last time and Alec’s 7lbs claim will help. Mugader heads to Chester in the 4:18 but has to defy a 7lbs rise for winning at Doncaster. He’s in good shape, though, and gets the trip well.
