QATAR GOODWOOD FESTIVAL – FRIDAY

4:10 G3 Glorious Stakes

Fancy Man (Sean Levey)

He ran well in the Old Newton Cup at Haydock last time after a nice break and he’ll come on a lot for it as well. Ideally he wants plenty of give in the ground but there are a few drops of rain forecast and the clerk has put plenty of water on so I’m not concerned about the going and he has some very smart form to his name. He stays a mile a half well and this race looks tailor made for him.

4:45 Nursery

Silencer (Cieren Fallon)

He was starting to get quite frustrating and had no excuses at Chester last time so we gelded him which will hopefully make him concentrate on the job in hand because he’s a very smart horse and I can’t believe he’s still a Maiden. The step up in trip shouldn’t be a problem and he’s a good mover so handles any ground and if his mind is on the job, he won’t be far away.

Gaallibb (Sean Levey)

He was impressive in a Maiden at Nottingham last time and steps into Nursery Company off a mark of 85 and time will tell if that’s fair. He’s going the right way, however, and has valuable course experience which obviously counts for a lot in races like this and he’s drawn well in two.

Land Of Summer (Pat Dobbs)

She’s a nice filly who will be happier in Nursery class off the back of a decent enough effort in the Super Sprint last time. Stall 14 might not be ideal but she’s in good shape at home and the step back up in trip will help.

Unibet’s 15 To Go offer is available on this race

5:20 Handicap

Carbrackan (Rossa Ryan)

He’s a lovely big horse who is slightly in and out but has plenty of talent and if things go his way he’s more than capable of going well here. The blinkers help him concentrate and he has place claims.
