NEWMARKET – FRIDAY

1:15 Maiden Fillies’
She’s A Mirage (Ryan Moore)
She’s a nicely bred filly by Kodiac from a good family and I like everything I’ve seen of her so far. We’ve taken her away to work so she should know her job and I’m hopeful of a decent show. She should run a nice race.

2:25 Listed King Charles II Stakes
Gubbass (Ryan Moore)
As I said in this blog before he ran in the Greenham, he hadn’t been showing a great deal at home and wasn’t quite ready but I thought a run would do him good and it sharpened him up nicely. He got the trip that day so we’re sticking to seven and he’ll like the ground. I expect him to go well.

4:45 Handicap
Dingle (Ryan Moore)
He’s very consistent and is good at a mile and a mile and a quarter and he put up a very good effort at Lingfield last time. You might look at his form and think he’s better on the All Weather but he’s still quite lightly raced for his age and the ground here, along with the uphill finish over this trip, will suit him really well and he’s probably our best chance of the day.

We’ve also got a couple of runners down at GOODWOOD where Dawn Of Liberation takes a step down in grade in the Conditions Stakes at 1:30. Ultimately he was a little disappointing in a Listed race at Newmarket last time but he raced quite keenly and didn’t look to last home over the trip so the drop back to a mile will suit and we’ll let him bowl along. Shouldvebeenaring makes his racecourse debut in the Novice Stakes at 2:05 and he looks a nice horse for the future.
