Dukebox

He did well to win over five furlongs on debut at Kempton because we thought that trip would be on the sharp side but he showed a great attitude and finished his race well which is why the step up to six furlongs is a massive plus. The second has come out and won since so the form has quite a strong look to it and he’s a colt with plenty of ability.

Al Shibli

He is a very sharp colt from a family we know well and everything he’s done at home has been pleasing. I think he’ll improve for the run but he is a really nice horse who could easily be good enough to win first time out. That said, I’d fancy Dukebox ahead of this one today simply because he’s got that crucial race experience.

Happy Romance

I was delighted to see her get her head back in front of Chelmsford last time where she clearly appreciated the drop back down to 6 furlongs. She’s got a great record at this track, has been in good form at home, and goes there with a solid chance.

River Alwen

He put up a great performance to win under top weight at Newmarket a couple of weeks ago and we’ve kept him nice and fresh at home since then. He got put up 5lbs for that but the ground won’t be a problem and if you go back to his first run of the season at Newbury he wasn’t far behind the Dante winner Fantasy Lane so the form is strong. He likes this trip and there’s no reason why he can’t win again.

Dingle

I think he’s crying out for a step up in trip and as long as the ground isn’t too testing you certainly couldn’t rule him out on his best form. He is a horse who’s always shown plenty of ability at home and he should run very well at a big price.

Fountain Cross

He’s got a little bit to find with River Alwen but that was a good run over a mile and a quarter last time and he won’t mind any rain.

Aristia

The form of her debut win over course and distance has taken quite a few knocks but she can only beat what she faces and she’s a horse we think an awful lot of. It looks an extremely competitive race so I’m not saying she’s a ‘good thing’ but she’s definitely a very good filly!

Fancy Man

There’s no doubt about it, Sean went for home much too soon in the Chester Vase so we’ll try and be a little bit more patient here. In all honesty he may not have quite seen out the trip so the step back down to a mile and a quarter on this stiff track should be ideal and he’d have to be one of our best chances of the day.

Thank You Next

She didn’t see out a mile at Ascot last time so the return to seven furlongs should be a plus and on her very best form she’s not out of it but you couldn’t be entirely confident.

Mr Trick

We are utilising Thore’s 3lbs claim and he’s definitely improved for his first run of the season at Lingfield last time. This is a competitive Handicap but he’s in great form at home, has been working really well, and I rate his chance quite highly.

Theotherside

She ran well at Chester the other day, which was encouraging, and she’s always shown a decent level of form so I wouldn’t be surprised to see her run a nice race, but I’m not confident by any means.
