YORK – Ebor Festival
4:10
Ehraz (Ryan Moore)
We’ve always thought a great deal of him, but things haven’t entirely gone his way, however, on his day he is very good and I don’t think he quite handled the soft ground at Chester last time when making much of the running. He’s into a Handicap for the first time and I’m hopeful he can go well under Ryan Moore.
Mum’s Tipple (Sean Levey)
He’s been consistent right the way through and is a standing dish in these type of races. The Handicapper has him in his grip, but six furlongs around here is right up his street and he has solid claims.
Bosh (Rossa Ryan)
He hasn’t run in over a year, but was a very smart two year old and we’ve been patient with him. It’s a competitive race, but he has to get started somewhere and this is a valuable pot. I’ve been happy with his work and, while he’ll come on for the run, it wouldn’t surprise me to see him thereabouts.
The Big Board (Callum Rodriguez)
She’s a very consistent filly with a lovely attitude who has been in good form all season. Six furlongs isn’t a problem and she handles any ground.
4:45
Baheer (Sean Levey)
The ground was very soft in the Molecomb so he’ll be much, much happier under these conditions. We were looking at running him in the Gimcrack, but had Haatem for that, and he’s got plenty of speed so won’t have any problem dropping back in trip. He is a bull of a horse, but a very good one and I fancy him quite strongly.
NEWMARKET
1:40
Piloto Pardo (Sam Hitchcott)
He’s a nice looking son of Bated Breath who has been pleasing in his work and has been ready to go for a while. Like many of ours, he’ll improve for it, but is in good shape and should acquit himself well.
3:20
Commander Crouch (Shane Kelly)
He stayed on nicely at Newbury last time, so will like this stiff finish, and he’s a horse that thrives on racing. He has a solid each way shout in a valuable race.
Yeah Nah (Sam Hitchcott)
She’s a tough little filly with a great attitude and I was delighted to see her win on debut at Salisbury. This is a step up, but I think she’ll improve again, and I wouldn’t rule her out.
3:55
Shouldvebeenaring (Hayley Turner)
Despite finishing ninth in the Hackwood, he ran much better than the form suggests because he got bumped yet was only beaten about four lengths, so that run can be upgraded. He’s a very consistent colt who will bounce off the ground and must have a great chance.
4:32
Dark Thirty (Sam Hitchcott)
He’s been in generally good form all season and seven furlongs is his best trip. There’s not much margin for manoeuvre off his current mark (90) but he’s only a pound higher than his York win so should go close.
WINDSOR
7:20
Morcar (Alec Voikhansky)
He was disappointing on soft ground at Sandown last time so will be much happier back on this quicker surface and the drop back to a mile won’t be an issue. Alec takes 5lbs off which is an obvious plus and he has a great chance.
7:50
Major Major (Alec Voikhansky)
He showed a good attitude to win over this trip at Lingfield last time off the back of a good effort at Newmarket beforehand, and he should go well if he turns up in the same form.
